  1. If I pay that much for a set of pickups, there had better be a blow job involved in the transaction. And not from Tom Holmes...
  2. Gyroscopes are good for developing some strength, but more stamina in the fingers, hands, wrists and forearms. They're pretty popular at the chiropractic colleges for the students trying to strengthen their hands and fingers for adjusting purposes. I've messed around with them on occasion, and they certainly are addicting.
  3. I would. But I swapped out the bridge pickup for a humbucker. The stock pickup was nice, but I've never been much of a Tele guy. I had a T51 Hamer Tele that sounded amazing. But I sold it after getting my Tally because I thought it was a little redundant for me to have both, what with me not being much of a Tele guy... Bottom line, if you want a Tele, get a Tele. If you want a kick ass, totally versatile tone machine, get a Tally.
  4. I did. I just haven't taken any new, high quality pics since the swap. I should get on that...
  5. Still the finest guitar I've ever had my hands on. And this is the wallpaper on my desktop. I'm proud to say that those two guitars are one and the same.
  6. Eventually, I would like to have a 25th Limited, a 30th, and a Redwood. Eventually.... Stunning examples of the 25th Limited, fellas. More pics of the 30th's please.
  7. You know, I've had a few guitars that sounded really good with the 59s. I think they're good pickups that can do just about anything with the right amp. That being said, I've swapped them out of all of my guitars, too...
  8. Well, I would never buy a new guitar that had been relic'd. I have no problems buying an old beater. However, I could care less what other people spend their money on. If they want a relic'd guitar and it makes them happy, who am I to piss in their Cheerios?
  9. I'll do it for ya....cheap.
  10. Just tap a little around the body and you'll be able to tell if it's chambered or not. Tap your finger around the lower half of the body to get an idea of what solid wood feels like and then start tapping around the upper half. Kind of like finding a stud in your walls, listen for the slightly hollow noise compared to the dull thud. It works with my Talladega.
  11. I've got you in my thoughts. And I'll give you $350 for that Duotone.
  12. I've only got a half stack. Now I kind of feel like less of a man. : (
  13. Makes me want to pull out my 78 and giver her a rip. Nice buy, man.
  14. It's no coincidence.
  15. Yup, F.U.C.K was the first cd I ever got. It got it on my birthday when I was in 7th grade I think. Killer album and one of my favorite tones of EVH's. Maybe that's blasphemy, but it was just so thick and creamy. Like a good pint of Guinness.
  16. Van Halen 3? I kid, I kid. It's too difficult for me to pick a single album I like best. They're all good to me. I like each one for different reasons. That being said, the most recent Van Halen I listened to was Live: Right Here Right Now.
  17. I would definitely call this neck a medium C. It's very comfortable, but definitely not what I would call chunky. The necks on my 94 Mirage I, 94 T-51, 95 Special FM and 97 Standard Mahogany are all very similar. The 83 Vector has a slimmer profile and my Artist Korina with the vintage carve is much more substantial. The mid 90's guitars I have all lie somewhere in the middle of vintage chunky and shredder thin.
  18. More pics of the Special FM
  19. THose pickups cannot accept a cover due to the design. I asked. What you see is what you get. I agree that the idea is really cool. But it's definitely going to be a pickup for those who prefer function over form.
  20. I got permission from the previous owner to use his pics of the T-51. So here are a few. I've got more so if anyone wants to see them, just let me know.
  21. The T-51 weighed in at exactly 8 pounds on my bathroom scale. However, I cannot vouch for its accuracy. I set the scale to 0 and placed the T-51 on. The needle landed directly on the 8 pound hash mark. Whenever I weigh myself on it, I always give a plus or minus 5 pounds. So, the T-51 definitely weighs anywhere between 3 and 13 pounds.
