  1. I'll get a weight on the trusty bathroom scale when I get home tonight.
  2. Here's the deal, my new Talladega is the finest guitar I've ever played. I am getting another one. That's it. First up is a 94 T-51 with stock Duncans. SOLD!!!!! Next up is an absolute monster of a player. My 95 Studio FM. SOLD!!!! Last one for now is my 83 Vector. This thing is a player. It's got the sustain block trem bridge that has been 100% blocked and is as stable as a true fixed bridge. It's definitely in player's condition as it has it's fair share of bumps and bruises. Otherwise it is all original and plays like a beast. The stock DiMarzios through my 5150 do a killer early Judas Priest and the neck pickup does shred leads like butter. Back down on them a little and they clean up just like any good PAF style pickup. Comes with hard case that someone with some "art" sense had his way with. It's definitely unique looking, but it's as solid a hard case as you'll get. $500 Cash is king. Postal Money orders 2nd. Paypal is fine, I'll even split the fees. Personal check is ok if you want to wait for it to clear.
  3. Oh yeah, I could live with a 2-way toggle switch. Beat that!!!
  4. Yeah, the crown inlays just don't look right to me on that guitar. The bound fretboard, though, now that is killer. Good luck with the sale/exchange.
  5. I've heard so many horry stories about FedEx, I have never used them to ship a guitar. I used to use UPS, but to tell you the truth, I have the best luck with the Post Office.
  6. Thanks for ordering such a killer looking guitar. Extremely drool-worthy.
  7. A few of my favorites include: Dream Theater: Live Scenes From a Memory, Live at Budokan, Score, and When Day and Dream Reunite. I thought the DVD release of Live at the Marquee and 5 Years in a Live Time was a little weak. Enjoyable, but I thought the sound mix wasn't as good as their later releases. G3: Live in Denver and Live in Tokyo. These two floored me more so than the first G3 with Satch, Vai and Eric Johnson. Even though I was at the concert they recorded for 99% of the cd in 1996, the later two just got me. Steve Vai: Live at the Astoria. Some of the camera work is a little goofy, and Vai gets a little dorky with his stories and the fan blowing his hair. But the concert itself is jaw dropping with a great sound mix.
  8. You know, everyone is asking to be given the guitar, or to win it in a raffle. I'm willing to BUY the guitar......
  9. I'm thinking that a custom job like that, but with a sustain block and a fat ass neck, would be perfect for me. OK, trash the EMGs and put some passives in there. Then it would be perfect for me.
  10. Perhaps I'm blind, unobservant, or just completely missed the boat. But what ever happened to this guitar?
  11. If they'll do that without a middle pickup, we NEED to talk.
  12. By the way, does anyone know what the stock DUncan pickups are in the T-51?
  13. So, ever since I picked up my T-51 a couple of weeks ago I am continually amazed at how good this guitar is. And this is coming from someone who HATES single coils. I have to ask, who makes a better Tele than the T-51? Now, I know that Tom Anderson, Grosh, Nash, etc., make great Teles. But who makes a BETTER one than the Hamer T-51? I realize this question is pretty subjective. But I've got to know. Because if there's something out there that is better than the T-51 I picked up, I need to know. And I need one.
  14. Hey!!! That's Dr. Fucktard to you, sir.
  15. The only guitar I got in this year: But I got it in on trade, so it probably doesn't belong in this thread. Oh well, call me a fucktard and deal with it.
  16. Close call. Glad you got your Standard.
  17. Here's me and some drunk dude outside a gas station waving people in to get $.25 sodas and hot dogs as part of a customer appreciation deal. I'm on the left. Or, I'm the guy who doesn't have his junk oulined by wearing a suit he can't pull off.
  18. I'm a big fan of the Custom/Custom and the Custom 5 in the bridge position. The Custom/Custom has more midrange and a buttery high end while the Custom 5 has that great lower end thump and hot PAF style tone. I don't htink you could go wrong with either one of those.
  19. As long as Hamer doesn't suffer the same effects that Jackson/Charvel did, I'll be happy.
  20. I've been looking back on all the old Sunburst threads and I though about starting an official appreciation thread. I'll start with mine. 1978 (8 0111) Sunburst, with the original DiMarzio pickups, tuners, etc. The pots may not be original but are period correct. Can't remember what Greg told me on that one. The sustain block bridge is actually shimmed with what looks like a piece of plastic pickguard material. Nice darkburst finish. Plays like butter and sounds like a 30 year old guitar should. It's only a few months older than I am, so it has a special place in my heart.
  21. When I get the money, a Rivera amp will be my next purchase. I was totally floored when I tried them out. I think you'll be impressed.
  22. Curse you, Greg Platzer. Curse you for giving me exactly what I wanted. I should have known better. Now I gots GAS.
  23. Greg, you ruined me for the rest of the evening. Guess I'll have to come up with some other way to entertain the wife.
  24. I would love to see the pics of your 25th Limited Artists and your 30th Anniversary Studios. What can you guys come up with?
