Loves me some Primal Fear. Angels and Demons & Devils Ground were the 2nd and 3rd albums I ever bought on iTunes (about 2 months ago, yeah I know I'm behind in the times...)

I like it. It sounds more like DLR's solo stuff than classic VH. But that doesn't really surprise me. It doesn't floor me the way the older stuff does but I'm curious to hear some more.

I'm looking forward to it. I like both major eras of VH, Roth and Hagar. And I liked a good portion of VH3. I do agree that Cherone was channeling Sammy on that album. Either way, I'll buy it.

The special designation serial number isn't a deal breaker for me. I'm in regardless. I'm thinking Vintage Orange with a Tort pickguard... That sounds like it would be tits to me. Of course, if any photoshop gurus wanna do a mock-up, that would kick ass...

Gimme 2 weeks and I'm in. Bonus if they're going to have a special serial number designation, like "2 of 6" or whatever. Undecided on the color right now. Crap, forgot to ask, pickguard or no?

What's the deposit? And are all six going to be the same color, or is there a choice between the ones listed? Oh, and what's the neck carve? And if you don't get 6 deposits are they refundable or applicable towards other items?

I don't know why so many people diss Peavey amps. I think they sound great and they're built like tanks.

I am feeling a little saucy. But I am starting to jones for a Newport something fierce. Even tho I'm not sure that it would be the best guitar to compliment my playing style. Maybe I should get one to force myself to expand my musical horizons... Why is it that I get GAS right before I start a job that's going to keep me away from playing guitar much at all for the next few months?

Interesting. Since I've never owned a Newport or a Studio, chambered or otherwise (altho my old Special FM sounded as good as any solid Studio I ever demo'd), I'll take your word for it. Also, I'm not aware of the exact amount of wood Hamer takes out when chambering a Studio vs. an Artist or Newport. Although, I vaguely remember seeing a Newport without a top, so... I suppose the only way for me to ever really know for sure is to own one of each. I wonder how a Newport would sound thru my 5150...

Then, by that logic couldn't you say that an Artist will get you most of the way to a Newport...?

A Newport without F-holes? I know there have been a couple Artists made without F-holes. Altho isn't any Studio that's chambered technically an Artist without F-Holes? Of course, without the F-holes, the routing would probably have to be changed since there's no rear routing on a stock Newport. I probably answered my own question with that...
