PSA: Daytona Neck $399

Don't know that I've seen one of these listed before. No affiliation, but a good bit of appreciation.

Great if you're into the flatter Hamer fretboard radius. Locking Sperzels included.

I have no idea, but isn't $399 on the 'ambitious' side?  The "Make An Offer" button is active.

I agree that it’s a little on the ambitious side - especially given that it looks like it needs some fret-leveling work.

I freaking loved the neck on the T51 I had…this is tempting….to just buy and build a guitar around…

I kind of did that…TWICE!

This is a SUPER light Korina body I got from Musikraft.  Daytona neck pockets, recessed trem cavity plate and pretty much all of the parts are from two donor Daytonas (except the bridge pickup and the PhatCats, the latter came out of a NOS Newport).

I think an old post I read a while back mentioned the Daytona neck pocket is a little deeper and more of a Tele shape. A Fender 22 fretboard will hit the pickguard, who knows, maybe even crack off once bolted down. Saw a Daytona on Reverb not too long ago with a Fender neck. Wonder how they pulled that one off?

Mark - yes indeed.  It’s the squared, Tele-style heel, and has the 22nd fret extension, so doesn’t sit flush in a curved pocket like on a Strat.   I’m assuming that it’s the same 2-3/16” neck pocket width, but can check.

The Daytona neck I had did not fit a standard Fender body and a standard Fender neck / Mighty Mite, etc., did not fit my Daytona body. The neck Required an eighth-inch shim under the heel to raise it up. So the heel in my particular Daytona was an eighth "thicker" than a "Fender" neck heel. But mine could have been a dumpster find. Who knows.

Is the seller a member here?  I ask because I had a somewhat bizarre interaction with the person trying to sell this exact neck on the Facebook page. Not saying it was a scam, but I had some issues trying to tender payment and eventually pulled the plug.
