All sorts of cool right there.

Where's the toggle switch?

Probably a push/pull pot??

Kurt's correct-  a push/pull. But it's easily remedied. I added one to this DK24. ;)

Heads up ... I spoke by phone today to our old HFC pal Jason "kullifornian" Kull.  He is soon putting on the FS block one of his Calis ...

Specifically, an '88, banana yellow, boomers and ebony. He thinks it was a custom order because he said it has a one-piece maple neck.

Kull hasn't visited this page in forever, but he's active on Facebook and at the Hamer USA Guitars fan page on Facebook. Go ping him to get the details.

Here's a pic of it I just swiped off his FB page ...

No photo description available.

Well....That would go nicely with my Ram 1500 YELLOW Rebel.  Damn....thought I was "done with Cali's", too.

I was watching the Hamer history vid on Youtube and it was mentioned that Hamer had some issues with the one piece maple necks early on....twisting issue.  That is why they went with the 3 piece versions...according to the vid, anyway.

In any case, it is a very interesting guitar.  Jeff R, I went on Facebook and there are quite a few "Kull's" listed.....not sure which one is his.  Can you share a specific link so I can ask him some Q's?

It was one piece mahogany necks not maple necks that had the issues.

Hamer made one piece maple necks as standard for Centauras, Diablos, Vintage S, T62, T51 and Daytonas and three piece maple necks as standard for Californians and Chaparrals and others.

A one piece neck on a Cali is somewhat unusual but I’ve seen at least one other like that which was for sale in Japan - and as Jason’s is an early one - 1988 - so to me it makes it even more interesting.

I wonder if those are the original pickups?

Quite possibly but I doubt it? The trem isn't. it's a Schaller branded (should be Hamer) black base plate with chrome saddles

I’m quite interested to buy that Cali at GC but am international. If anyone has any experience or suggestions navigating international postage from GC please let me know. Or perhaps if anyone is local and would be prepared to help coordinate postage for me I’d be happy to cover time and materials etc
