I used to watch the Midnight Special all the time in the early '70s. I don't recall seeing this performance and I have a very good memory. All this time I thought "Rod" was his actual name. I suppose it was an appropriate nickname all along... 

I, too, watched probably every single Midnight Special. Some amazing performances.

This was my favorite Rod Stewart period. With the Faces. Their recordings are raw and real. No fancy studio stuff, just solid Rock&Roll.
