PSA: '82 Prototype on Reverb w/OHSC

Relatively speaking (i.e., relative the other Prototype listings on Reverb) this looks to be a steal. $1,900 shipped? And like Paul's grandfather, it's "clean!"

I checked this one out at a guitar show on Sunday.  Really nice one.

I was really tempted by this one...  Looks like it's in great condition.

Trust me, it was everything I could do not to buy this guitar. I've wanted a prototype since seeing Eddie Martinez on MTV in the early 80's.

And this one appeared so clean.

In the end I skipped it as 1. I know that I know the neck would be too thin for me to play regularly, and 2. It really wouldn't fill any voids in the pallet I am pulling from these days. 

But it was so clean!

The neck on my 1982 Sunburst is not thin at all.  

Think about that as you regret not buying the 1982 Prototype.  😏

The 82 proto I owned was slightly bigger than the 81’s, still nowhere near like Hamers mid 90’s carve. 
 

still one of my favorite Hamers of all time, but I lost my shirt on every single one I sold. Plus, prices will continue to drop.
