That's a copy and paste off the Hamer website, but it's copy for the Import version of the Standard, not the USA. Funny, he doesn't know crap about what he's selling but he has the price about right.

Wonder what it'll be worth then? In the meantime the 1997 is a great one too! Waw !!!What's the story behind the 25 years to get it ?

In his search for a replacement I sugessted he should look into a Hamer seeing the he is a Jethro Tull fan. He has never heard of Hamer at that time and I pointed out the guitars that Martin Barre was using and that hooked him. He called Hamer and Talked to Paul Hamer and went ahead and placed the order. It was delivered in March of '78 and the day he got it he called me up to see it. Went to where he was jamming with a band and no one else was allowed to touch it, quite a Spinal Tap moment. He hands me the guitar and with everyone else glaring daggers I got to play it. He let me play it since without my pushing that he should get a Hamer, he never would have ordered it. I told him that night if he ever sold it to call me first. I would see him every so often over the years and always asked about it and always got the, "nope not yet" answer. Got a call in Feb 2003 from him wanting to know if I wanted to borrow it, couldn't say yes fast enough. Had it for a couple of weeks before he picked it back up. He called me again a couple of weeks later wanting to know if I wanted to buy it. He said he had gotten other offers over he years but it didn't feel like it was the time to sell it and he really wanted it to go to me and now he was finally able to let it go knowing my feelings about this guitar. I got it nearly 25 years to the day of when he got it.
