sw686blue Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 Are you looking for a Standard or any Hamer sporting a sustain block?

bruce919 Posted July 25, 2006 Author Posted July 25, 2006 I wanted Jacks but the timing was off. If I can't find a new model Hamer with one & may start looking at 80's Specials. The price has gone way up on thoes latly. I will just keep my finger on the button & wait for a cool one to show itself.
peedenmark7 Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 yea for some reason the specials have jumped...even beaters are bringing some money.I never undestood that but it would likely have to do with current sus block custom order pricing driving used up a bit...that or guys are finally figuring out its a lot of bang for the buck....I know of a '80 or 81 trans red special thats pretty checked up in my neck of the woods... the finish is for shit... but it plays nice with good frets...it was $525 a year ago ...,I was gonnna buy it just for the decent case.. but never got round to it...looked at it again in person a few weeks ago... its now $699 and the bridge pickup runs at about half volume... a great beater but thats about it...theyre firm...
Punkavenger Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 The 82 Special I was going to buy is back on ebay cherryburst all original sustainblock ... far from mint but has a lot of character $799.00 Island fret music
peedenmark7 Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 not so long ago you could get a nice special for $350....
Punkavenger Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Hell, I remember when you could really fix up an old musclecar for $4000 Now it's $30,000 and thats for nothing too fancy My wages sure havent increased ten fold Somethings wrong!
