2 Nash Guitars: Strat & Tele

For sale are 2 Nash guitars.

First is a Nash Strat. Very lightly reliced (and I mean very little relicing). Tobacco sunburst finish, Fender CS '54 pickups, left-handed tremelo, big compound radius flame maple neck with Rosewood fretboard. Plays like a dream. Just purchased another Nash Strat that is a little lighter and a neck that fits me better. This one was built when Bill Nash was still taking custom orders. Includes a nice softshell case (not a gig-bag). If someone must have a hardshell case, I have a nice Fender G&G hardshell case with gold lining (the same one used for Fender CS) that I could offer for $100. SOLD

Next is an almost brand new Nash '62 Tele. Purchased new by me from Killer Vintage guitars in April of this year. One of the best playing and sounding Tele's I've ever played. Medium relic, very tasteful. Nice and light with a medium C neck, 9.5 radius, Lollar pickups. I just picked up an almost identical Revelator Tele, so this incredible Nash has to go. Includes gig bag (sorry, no other cases available for this one). Will be well packed for shipping. SOLD.

Oooh, don't get me (or Kiz) started on that Revelator dude. Hope your experience was better than either of ours. I should post pics and tell a story, but I've cooled down a little and would hate to trash anyone's business THAT much.

Sport.

Serial,

Well, I haven't had to deal with him that much since I bought a guitar that had already been built. My dealings and conversations with him have been fine and I'm very happy with the guitar. I'm sorry you and Kiz had a bad experience.

Be that as it may, these Nash's are stellar guitars.

I've seen a couple really nice Nash Teles. I've seen one Revelator body and it was the biggest POS I've ever seen (it was an Allparts body too, not one that he "tone tapped" and made with the "same machines that they used in the old Fullerton plant". Although he has a "no questions asked return policy", he spends your deposit and I have to wait quite a while to see my money (and I lost almost $20 in Paypal fees to boot) because he didn't have it. Oh yeah-the six week turnaround time took closer to six months. And when I told him I wasn't happy (and I'm easy to please), he tried to tell me "oh, I made a mistake, that was for SOMEONE ELSE!" Yeah right, someone ordered a completely unconvincing steel wooled POS body that was most likely done in an afternoon when he realized I was getting irritated that I'd been forgotten about (and that he'd long ago spent my $$). There's plenty more, including Esporto..., but I'll leave it at this. For now.

Back to the subject of the thread, though...

LOVE that Nash Tele!

Before this thread gets completely derailed, I'd like to get it back on topic, the offer of 2 very nice Nash guitars. I'll be more than happy do fully discuss my limited experiences with Revelator guitars and my reasoning for purchasing one, but I'm not sure this is the thread to do it. I know these aren't Hamers, but I know there are at least a handful of members that have played and appreciate Nash's.

I appreciate the Nash Teles. They're nicely done and I'm a Tele snob.

Here's a plug for Nash, and one for Currypowder-

My favorite strat style guitar is a rosewood neck strat that Bill did for me in Hot Rod Red, w/ Rio Grandes that is an incredible guitar. I have owned more than one Masterbuilt guitars and a bunch of the team built Custom Shop stuff from Fender, and my favorite Strat style guitar is the one Bill made for me.

Speaking of great guys- Currypowder is also Aces in my book. He actually picked up the phone to call me to make sure that I had rec'd a guitar he had sent me and to make sure I was happy with it.

My .02 cents. :o

I'll add a big thumbs up on Nash Teles. I have two and they are constant "go to" guitars.I haven't figured out what Bill does to make these things so good, but whatever it is, it works.

Haven't played a Nash Strat yet, but I suspect that they're just as good.

Sorry but parts, pickups, finish, repairs or anything other than complete guitar builds is "not our bag, baby". Since I cannot keep up with emails, please understand if you email me with questions about repairs, parts or anything involving services I do not perform or with a question answered in my FAQ area, I may not email back. This is in no way meant to offend anyone, it is just part of the triage process needed so I do not have to employ someone to read and respond to email. Also, please understand that I not only lived in Los Angeles during the 70s, but I have ADD and work around nitrocellulose lacquer fumes all night so I cannot concentrate well enough or long enough to read any long emails even if I had the time. The good thing about this is I can hide my own Easter eggs.

Would someone please buy the Nash tele?If i didn't already own one i would

be all over it.Rosewood board and cream, yummy.

Yes, someone please by my Nash tele or I may just be tempted to keep it. With the tasteful medium relicing, the Lollar pickups (nicely balanced) and the more modern radius rosewood board, this one is definately special. Looks like the Strat may be spoken for.

Trade pending on the Strat. Price drop on the Tele to $1,450 shipped (save about $100 on what it would cost to buy one shipped new). This one is in the exact same shape as when I purchased it.

Bump with price reduction and a bit more information on the Tele. It is very light. I weighed it on my bathroom scale last night at 6.5 lbs. The scale is fairly accurate within a half pound, so I'll say between 6.5 & 7. I have not had any finger staining from the fingerboard (this has been a complaint from a very few, but vocal, owners), and I have played it for long stretches, although not in a gigging situation. It has never left my non-smoking house since I've owned it. It stays in tune very well. The nut doesn't grab the strings and the tuning machines are very stable. Again, I have played it for long stretches without needing to retune.

Bill Nash is rightly praised for his guitars, and this is an excellent example. The lollars fit this guitar perfectly. His guitars fly off the shelf at his dealers (I had to pre-order this one to ensure I got it). This one is in "like-new" condition, or at least as like new as a relic can get. Come and get it before it hits e-bay.

+ 1 on the Nash. If that one hits eBay, it'll most likely go for well over the current asking price.

About the same price as a reissued Fender and for MUCH more of a guitar.
