Anyone have a Vintage S they are thinking of selling?

Recommended Posts

Did anyone else notice that he actually RAISED his price by $1000 from the last listing, after getting NO bids?

Nice guitar though and probably worth the $2k (...oops! make the $2100 now) to the right person.

That would be this, insanely-priced one:

Salmon Blush. Way back when....who would ruin a great guitar by ordering it finished in the most butt ugly color (IMHO) Hamer has ever offered. What's it look like? Think Aztec Gold mixed with Pepto-Bismal. YYYyyyeeeEEEsh! However it is a great finish if you leave it in direct sunlight for 8-10 years and get most of the pinks & reds out of it.

Man, even with it priced sooo high, he's still adding a SHIPPING FEE!!!!!!!!

Plus, I've never been a fan of PINK (salmon blush is just a marketing term to make it sound less girly!!!) guitars.

Hey nosajwp, we better read the posts up top. Lots of salmon blush luvrs. Perhaps WE are the guitar fashion dweebs. Glad to know we are here together in the Salmon Blush Sucks Club. Stand in solidarity bruthu, stay the course, Salmon Blush still Sucks. ;-)

The ad says '98 but the first number looks like a 2 on the serial number, and '92 makes a lot more sense. If it was a '98 it would have come out of the CT factory and they haven't done any bolt-ons.

'91, amberburst(?), pencil neck, nearly flawless condition, non-Hamer HSC, guitar pick included. Just thought I'd post these to wet yer whistle.

Just putting an image in your head.

Don't ya just luv those fall colors?!

Rumored to have been owned and used on various recordings & world tours by these gents...

That is nice looking Noonan, thanks.

I was just curious is that a different type of wood then the one on ebay in the link above? I really like the swirly effect (but I am also not a big fan of the pink).

Does anyone know what wood that top is and what kind is yours Noonan?

Have a great day

I wish I'd had the funds when hectorp offered that same quilt maple, salmon blush, EMG equipped Vintage S here for I believe $900. I'd have snagged it and saved you guys the trouble of debating whether the color is cool or not.

He's a great guy and probably would even have gone so far as to let me pay in installments if it were not for the fact he was selling it to pay for a vacation trip. :D

Oh well. Long as this thead is becoming a porn thread, I have these two

and plan to hang on to and treasure them for a good long time yet.

Good luck, nosajwp, there are still some out there.

Nuclear Wessel,

So YOU are the one who's pics I have been seeing on my Yahoo searches for a Vintage S (searches that fizzle out all too quickly I might add)!!! Good thing your email wasn't on your website, or I'd have been bugging you to buy the Iced Tea bursted one until you were green in the face!

Nice collection you have there BTW!

'nosajwp' please send your real email address to me. HFC outbound mail doesn't cooperate with my computer anymore.

  • 3 weeks later...

How funny is that??? I was going to buy it from him back when he first posted it for sale, but he decided to keep it at the time. Then two weeks or so later, I emailed him again to see if he was sure about not selling it, and he said he already sold it!!!

So you're the guy!!! Please let me have a shot at it!!!

I'm on the fence, but if I do, you will get first crack. I know you have been looking for a while now. I PM'd him a few days ago to give him first dibs and he mentioned you. Its in the same condition I bought it, but I replaced the pickups. Duncan SD Mini and 59 Mini with a Duncan sc in the middle. With the preamp, I just couldnt stand the buzz from the Rio Grandes he had installed. Now it just buzzes in pos 3:) Good quack in the 2 and 4 positions since I split the coils to run with the middle pickup. Strat like now:) I should know in the next day or so if I am going to go through with it. I'll PM you:)
