danhops Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Amazing guitar but I just never have been able to bond with it. Great shape with a few small blems/wear. Comes with TKL hard case. Looking for $2250. Will consider trades for something of equal or lesser value.

black magic Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Cool Dan!! Great specs. I imagaine it has regular medium frets like Gibsons and Hamers? That truely is a work of art there man Jack.
Travis Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Killer guitar. Out of curiosity, if the pickups are direct mounted, why the pickup rings?
clmazza Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Fantastic Guitar Dan! I have one very similar to yours but with a quilt top and all white limba body and neck. McNut's are killer players! AWESOME PRICE! Somebody snap this badboy up... Chuck
danhops Posted November 21, 2006 Author Posted November 21, 2006 Killer guitar. Out of curiosity, if the pickups are direct mounted, why the pickup rings?Only thing I could think of is cosmetics.
atquinn Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Killer guitar. Out of curiosity, if the pickups are direct mounted, why the pickup rings? The look.
Travis Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 That's what I was thinking. But if it was purely for the looks, why not mount the pickups to the rings? I'm assuming the pickups were mounted direct to the body for the tone and the rings were added for the aesthetics.Either way, that is a badass guitar. I'm curious how it compares to a Hamer Studio Custom.

I'm curious how it compares to a Hamer Studio Custom. Its a bit smoother, and dare I say more compressed sounding than the SC (at least the one I have). I tend to describe it as more "modern sounding".
BCR Greg Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 I have a friend named Tony that plays with a little rock band that loves these guitars.
kizanski Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 I have a friend named Tony that plays with a little rock band that loves these guitars. "Tony's the little boy that lives in my mouth."
danhops Posted November 21, 2006 Author Posted November 21, 2006 I have a friend named Tony that plays with a little rock band that loves these guitars. "Tony's the little boy that lives in my mouth." When I first saw that reply, the pic didnt load. Scary huh
danhops Posted November 23, 2006 Author Posted November 23, 2006 Still available. I am sure someone will hit me with the right trade. Amps considered as well.
black magic Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Dan, what is the Fret size and Nut width? Jack.
danhops Posted November 23, 2006 Author Posted November 23, 2006 Dan, what is the Fret size and Nut width? Jack. The frets are about the same as my Hamers. Nut width, honestly no idea. I can try and measure it later today:) Feel free to make me an offer. There is a finish crack along the back of the neck joint, and one tiny ding on the top edge. The back pic really doesnt show it, but its there. Just in the clear, the wood is fine.
guitarzandstuff Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 How about the neck carve? Is it nice and chucky?
danhops Posted November 24, 2006 Author Posted November 24, 2006 How about the neck carve? Is it nice and chucky? Not really chunky. Kinda like a current Gibson 50's neck, but with more of a V shape.
clmazza Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 Dan, I hope you don't mind... I dropped this link on the Dean Forum. We had a thread on maple tops and I posted my McNut and someone made a comment about where to get one...ChuckDean site
danhops Posted November 25, 2006 Author Posted November 25, 2006 No complaints here. If it doesnt go by Monday, I'll probably just hold on to it. I've had lots of trade offers, just nothing I dont already have.
danhops Posted December 1, 2006 Author Posted December 1, 2006 price reduction. If it dont go soon, I'm just gonna keep it.
