Anyone have experience with this particular model? Any reason to avoid?

Yeah, I love my Edwards but damned if I'm not a victim of marketing and want it to say Gibson on the headstock.

that was even faster than I thought it would be ! LOL Ya know I'm right there w/ ya. I've not liked any of the PPs I've tried as much as the 01 standard I'm using now, they seemed on the deadish side to my ear and this one rings and rings like a historic, I think it's just a crap shoot w/ Gibson no matter what the model, you can always move it if you dont get into it. the new LP standard s are getting really light, since it's all about the look check one out, I was amazed at the comfort , the Dr Sholz LP LOL

Is that Bonaduce singin' ?

I had one and it was a smoking guitar. Mine was a 1993 IIRC.

Well, the seller says the neck is a 60's style, but not as thin as an LP Classic, but it's not a big 58 neck either. I'm trying to get a handle on the neck size. I don't like the thin 60's styles, but he says this is bigger than that. I'm too cornfused.

The 60s necks ARE bigger than the LP Classic necks. Not sure what the guy wants money wise, but if it's around $2K spend a little more and get a 57 Reissue Historic LP.

After years of being without a "Real" Les Paul, I ended up finding two Les Paul Premium Plus that I thought were better the the rest.

I never play them, I play my Hamers and Deans.

The guitar actually has a 50's neck. He was comparing to his '58 Historic.

This guitar is well under $2k.

You know you want a Monaco speced out nicely......

I have one. Monaco Elite, BCR Burst (which really has no burst), chambered, WCRs. Killer axe. Still not a Les Paul.

Looks like I'll be good company. This one is mint, purchased new about a year ago. Stock except for strap locks. Case candy unopened and included in case I decide to put a pickguard on it. Probably not. Light weight around 8 lbs.

I assume you guys like yours?

This is my newest R9, a "Cloud 9" (limited '04 run of 60 by Dave's, Music Machine, and Wild West I think) which is chambered and weighs in at a little under 7 1/2 lbs...the neck is a 30/60 neck which means the neck profile is .30 thousands of an inch larger than a 60 slim taper neck profileso it falls in between a 60 slim taper and a regular 59 neck profile and is quite comfortable to play, yet still substantial. "Chambered Burst" is the identical color of the Duane Allman reissues, but renamed for 3 guitars in this run. Love it. There is a new batch out now I've heard, same dealers less Dave's...

Oh boy, that's good lookin' !

I know there's a trend to have LPs without a pickguard but IMO they just don't look right without one.

Here are few of the Pauls I have, '95 Prem.Plus and Historic R7,R8,R9 (L to R). All are light weight, in the 8lbs range except the R7 which is a hair over 9lbs.

DavidE, that Wine Red Paul looks killer! Have you decided yet??

Brings back memories....the first Paul I bought was a 1980 Wine red Standard.

With a little time lag to this thread. Despite my love for Hamers my 95 LP Premium Plus is still my number 1.
