cmatthes Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Didn't that exact guitar just sell not too long ago?
gatorbyte007 Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 That guitar was mine for years, it was built for Neil ZAZA,to do his clinics I purchased it through Jim Allen who at the time Had Kims job. The last owner changed the Pick ups, Im thinking about bidding.
Travis Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 That is pretty kick ass. Why the alder body, though?
AdmiralB Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Interesting. What year is it? At least a '90. I'm guessing '90 or '91, since '92 was the first year of polyurethane and I've never seen a Hamer graphic on anything but nitro.
cmatthes Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 If I recall correctly from when it was last for sale, it's a '90.
kurtsstuff Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 From the little chip in the paint the wood looks too dark to be alder....may be mahogany as it should be???
Jones Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Tommy Shaw had a similar guitar with the Damn Yankees.
cmatthes Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 His was a little different - still the same color blue, but his had red roses on it I thought. It's in a few Damn Yankees videos and a GHS strings ad.
RacerX Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Mine is pretty close...1989, mahogany, but no leds grrrrrrrrrr Ahhh the good old graphic days!

gatorbyte007 Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 the body is not alder, it is mahogany. that guitar had some fretwork done to it pretty early in its life. when Neil owned it , it sat in his Bass players basement for a couple years. when Hamer asked for that guitar back from Neil. I had Neil check what they wanted for it. they wanted 1,900.00. I passed and was called back 2 weeks later by Jim Allen who sold it to me for $800.00 it was shipped to a music store in cleveland called midway music, for me. the second time around the guitar played great, But I sold off a bunch of gear in the late 90s to move to south florida. pretty cool guitar it once had a neil zaza sticker on it, if you hold it right in the light you could barely still make it out. the art was done by Jim O'connor. I've seen about 4 of these so far but only one with leds. I have checked with the guy who bought it from me, And was told many times he still owned it and it was in Erie PA. He must of lied.
Scarabaeus Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 That is the first bolt-on that I have seen with LEDs. The auction ad says "No chips on headstock or body otherwise." Kurtsstuff, and the rest of us, must need our eyes checked.
