peedenmark7 Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 anything dayglo zulu or cracked dayglo for sale ?blk/white graphic stuff ?edited to add:I would also be interested in anything cracked dayglo.especially an early '84 proto2. these arent the most attractive of the cracked dayglo bunch as they are usually a simple pearl white guitar w/6x headstock WITH a pickguard and kahler. the dayglo graphic is on the front of the body only.most that I have seen have the finish problems associated with this graphic where the orange fades to a funky blue like an over exposed picture.

paults Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 On a related note, somewhere out there is a dayglo zulu (clownpuke) Phantom A7. If anyone ever sees it for sale, I want it : )I had a red zulu A7 that I sold to a guy to New Orleans close to ten years ago. I hope it survived......
mc2 Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 I had a red zulu A7 that I sold to a guy to New Orleans close to ten years ago. I hope it survived...... I actually picked up this super clean 4-Digit B8S (#0712) in New Orleans POST-Katrina. The original pickups were at the guy's rehearsal space that got totaled by the Katrina flood but the bass was with him and survived. I've since dug up a pair of correct PUPs for it. It's a solid one-piece body with binding, not a laminate top. Second owner said he got it on Texas and was told it belonged to Eric Jonson's bass player and that the name "Louie" on the truss cover was actually the bass' nickname. May just be one of those Southern hurricane legends.
DavidE Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 Paul: You could buy my A7 and refin it any way you want!
Jeff R Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 Paul: You could buy my A7 and refin it any way you want!Very good point...I read the title before I opened the thread and my first thought was that a zulu finish would probably be a relatively easy rattlecan finish. Get a readily available black Hamer, tape/mask it, shoot with random pink and orange blobules, pull the tape and clear it. I'd also think the nature of the finish would hide clearcoat boo-boos if your refin skills ain't the greatest.

It could use something busy like that to distract from its maladies.
cmatthes Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 Very cool, Jon! DIdn't know you picked that one up. I've got a Mahogany Standard a little earlier than that at # 0703. Its currently in "ready to be reborn" mode right now...
cmatthes Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 I think I've got something HAMER in DayGlow going up very soon, but it isn't Zulu.
