zorrow Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 I decided to place a new add. Here it goes: I want to buy an early 80's Vector in good playing condition. I want a fixed sustain-block bridge and the ugly, non-pointy headstock. I prefer no binding and no motifs, but I am open to any model -- might even consider a Schenker! I like flame tops and bursts, but one single color or transparent finishes would also be great. Please, no tremolo system and no pickguard. The closer to the models shown HERE, the better. I live in Montreal, but if you are in the USA you can ship the guitar to my great friend in Vermont. Also, money is not an issue -- I got the cash and I am ready to pay, though I don't have "one meeeelion dollars", no. . I prefer PayPal and I will naturally eat cross-border fees -- I know it is my fault if I live in Canada, not yours. Please, PM me with your proposals if you've got something for me. Thanks a lot in advance to you all!
peedenmark7 Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 not for sale.... but one schenker himself would likely have a hard time laying off of..http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v57/peed...k7/MVC-170S.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v57/peed...k7/MVC-169S.jpg
Michael_ Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 I've had an eye out for that exact same kinda thing for a couple of years now. They come up every once in awhile...stay the course and ye shall be rewarded
peedenmark7 Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 I got my ear to the sounding board for ya..I wont be adding any other non pointy headstocked ones to my little grouping unless in the VERY unlikely event its a B&C vec,.when one surfaces in my neck of the woods I'll definately forward you all the info so you can pounce on it !

zorrow Posted June 10, 2007 Author Posted June 10, 2007 Hey! Another bump to this thread -- still looking forward to conclude a deal with some of you! Edited to erase all the details I was talking about -- they actually are not interesting to anyone but me. BTW, Father's Day is around the corner. The best present I could offer to myself would be a good old 80's Hamer Vector. Nobody's able to help yet?
zorrow Posted June 14, 2007 Author Posted June 14, 2007 ...and of course, Father's Day implies a BUMP to this.
kizanski Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 There was one on ebaY just a short while ago.I guess the winner isn't you?http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...p;rd=1&rd=1Edited to add: That was a sincere question, not a dig...
zorrow Posted June 14, 2007 Author Posted June 14, 2007 I have all the right keywords on eBay to notify me if one ever pops up, but I should have missed that one because it was listed only for the United States -- and I live in Canada. In addition, "SELL ONLY IN THE US. (...) Paypal only. Paypal users must have confirmed address or I'll refuse payment." normally voids me from bidding, because you can ship my stuff to my friend in Vermont, US, but of course her address is not my confirmed PayPal address -- this could work only with sellers who are HFC members and know me well.
BCR Greg Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 I heard a rumor about one the other day. Patience, my friend, there may be good new soon.........

Refin, repro logo, Gibson pickups, cracks, etc. I can't imagine a solid all original one going for a whole lot more than that. Good luck in your quest, I wouldn't lose any sleep over that one.
BTMN Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 I tend to agree with BadgerDave on all those accounts. That buyer must have REALLY wanted one. If BCRGreg's deal doesn't pan out I have a Vector that MIGHT fit your bill. It too has had some work but is very solid and plays and sounds great. How essential is a neck pickup? Yeah, that's very true. Just read the add in detail and I wouldn't have purchased such a thing. The buyer was completely out of his mind, IMHO. I tend to agree with BadgerDave on all those accounts. However, to be frank it doesn't turn me on from the first sight... Well, I don't dislike it either. It has its charm, but if the price is not extremely low I would prefer saving my bucks for the axe I really have in my mind. Anyway, please PM me -- one never knows!
gerry Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 do you have more photos? gerry I tend to agree with BadgerDave on all those accounts. That buyer must have REALLY wanted one.
