bubbagomez Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Anyone remember these guys? The solo on "One Step Closer" from their "Water" album is pretty slick.
elduave Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Love them, opened for them. Jason was quite the melodic shredder and a fantastic songwriter.

Hamer Bass Head Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 I once saw a free, Monday-night show @I-Beam on Haight back in their day featuring Saigon Kick and openers,Mekong Delta.I s**t you not!this thread is so funny...I added a couple of their songs to my mp3 player recently and just happened tohave some down time on the job yesterday and guess what I was playing? Disturber Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Anyone remember these guys? The solo on "One Step Closer" from their "Water" album is pretty slick. Never heard them. Just always thought that they were lazy when they picked their name. It must come from the classic Hanoi Rocks album "Bangkok shocks, Saigon Shakes, Hanoi Rocks". (Hanoi Rocks are still bad ass.)
LordOfTheThighs Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 I don't even play out, and I opened for them.

Nope, it came from the tube being on in someones house at about the time of one of the anniversaries of the fall of Saigon. Dude commented to other dude, "why's everyone on this Saigon kick?", and bingo. A sampling: All I Want What You Say I liked 'em even more when they ditched the singer and Jason (guitarist) took over frontman duties.
tomteriffic Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 I saw them open for Extreme. They were slammin'.
BubbaVO Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 I didn't open for them. But I sure like those songs.
MR714 Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 I saw them open up for Extreme too. They did a really cool cover of Bowie's Space Oddity! ...and I opened for them at that show
El Kabong Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 I knew a guy who had a friend whose ex girlfriend opened her legs for them.
