RoyB Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 I worked a deal with this seller and he backed out because he wanted As is on the Paypal payment (I did that), but then that was not good enough and he refunded the payment till I sent a paypal payment with the text."I am buying this bass as is and I will not return it for any reason"I told him to stick it because I don't play that kind of game, so beware if you buy.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...A:IT&ih=001
Thundernotes Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 I think his listing is clear enough. No need to make you jump through hoops. Maybe he's been burned before. Who knows? Those basses show up occasionally. In fact, I just recently.........oh.........wait..........never mind.

Yah hever mind Come on what's up with paying a guy and him refunding the money and saying pay again with the BS statement. What so I can have two times the money tied up till the refund goes through? All because I wanted a couple of parts.
mark_tampa Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 If your interested in a Cruise bass, spotted this on on Craigslist the other day, heck of a deal if you can get him to ship it...Craigslist listing for Cruise bass
serial Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 If your interested in a Cruise bass, spotted this on on Craigslist the other day, heck of a deal if you can get him to ship it...Craigslist listing for Cruise bass 'Cept that this is a Chap bass, not a Cruisebass. The old Cruisebasses are really nice, but that seller and the bass seem a bit problematic. No headaches needed.

khackenfort Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 This is starting to become a problem with some buyers on e-bay / paypal -Buyer RemorseI found out the hard way, listing an item with NO RETURNS an AS-IS and No Warranty Don't mean a thing. There is a time window, it's about 30 days a buyer can make up almost any story they want and return the item. I know first hand, because this happened to me. The buyer filed claim was started saying the item wasn't as listed, paypal then put a hold on my account and instructed the buyer to send it back to me (he paid return shipping). Next thing I knew paypal had refund the total price leaving my paypal account with a neg balance for the amount and a collection agency contacted me. All this about a month after the buyer left me positive feedback and told me he was happy,
RoyB Posted March 19, 2008 Author Posted March 19, 2008 I found out his issue deal. He's a dealer on gbase and wants $400 for the bass, so this is a way to get out of selling it for $200. What a creap.
Steve Haynie Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 I saw that auction and wondered what it would take to make the bass set up correctly again.
MR714 Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 I saw that auction and wondered what it would take to make the bass set up correctly again.I had a prob with the neck on my 81 Cruisebass. It had a hump only under the E & A strings and you couln't play from the 6th fret up. I took it to two different techs that basically said to dump it. I love the neck shape and the sound was too good to pass up. I found out that I work with a guy that used to work for Hamer. He basically pulled the frets, planed the fingerboard and refretted it. Now it plays as good as it sounds...AMAZING!!!
