bubs_42 Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Some interesting auctions out there. Hey look at Pic #2...http://cgi.ebay.com/ESTATE-MUSICAL-INSTRUM...1QQcmdZViewItem
Jason01 Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Why in gods name would anyone buy that many cheap crap guitars?
kizanski Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Why in gods name would anyone buy that many cheap crap guitars?I was wondering the same thing. Looks like about 5 or 6 decent guitars along with a bunch of doodee. At least the descriptions are vague.
BubbaVO Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 This guy spent a lifetime building this guitar collection into the current state. Proof positive that more is not better.
Steve Haynie Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 What is this? It looks like a Gibson shaped headstock. The Hamer Steve Stevens: Two Hamers are listed in this auction.
marcnorth Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Here's a link with more details. Most of it looks like crap.http://www.ncauctionservices.com/
Hamer_SS_guy Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 What is this? It looks like a Gibson shaped headstock. That is a Gibson (maybe Epiphone labeled) model called Spirit I. It didn't have a mahogany body though (I guess they had maple bodies, as well as basswood or poplar bodies).
Steve Haynie Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 The other Hamer is a Daytona. The starting bid works out to a little over $280 per guitar. At top dollar the best stuff may be worth $10,000 if bought by a collector one piece at a time. That would be if the Strats and Les Pauls are really nice. The rest would be hard to dump.
kizanski Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 The rest would be hard to dump....but would be much fun to smash!!
JustKid Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Not sure if I'd give $350 for it. Seriously, this is pretty bad choice of guitars.
bubs_42 Posted March 31, 2008 Author Posted March 31, 2008 Side note I've played two Spirit's last year at a local shop. One with a Maple body and one with a Mahogany Body. Both sounded great. How much is the one Fender worth. You add that one the two hamer's and that's about all that's worth bidding on. O' and LESS IS MORE !
