Disturber Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Yeah, I saw that one. Me want. Almost worth a drive down there. I've heard they can brew good beer in Germany, something about old purity laws
dirk Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Yeah, I saw that one. Me want. Almost worth a drive down there. I've heard they can brew good beer in Germany, something about old purity laws Most people say that we have the best beer in the world (Sorry, Conrad ). I agree! Conrad, contact the seller. If he is willing to meet me half way i will pick it up for you and send it to belgium. I live 50 km away from Frankfurt.
edgar_allan_poe Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Most people say that we have the best beer in the world (Sorry, Conrad smile.gif ). I agree! Not a chance. The Belgians hold that title and every *real* beer drinker knows it. You guys do a masterful job with lagers, and wheat beers...but the Belgians have that *plus* about 3 million other varieties. My favorite beer in the world is Franziskaner Wit (German), but the Belgians still hold the title for best brewers.
GusS Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 My favorite beer in the world is Franziskaner Wit (German), but the Belgians still hold the title for best brewers.franzi is not witbier (that's belgian)

Belgium and Holland : Witbier - It has added herbs (mainly coriander) Yeah, I saw that one. Me want. Almost worth a drive down there. edgar_allan_poe Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 franzi is not witbier (that's belgian)Correct, I actually meant to say hefe....
Armitage Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 Wow, I had my heart set on an identical one "way back when." Loved the mahogany and black look. When I finally went into the shop to do the deal, it turns out that it had faded in the sun, and where a large price tag was stuck on the front of the body, it was obviously darker. I almost died.
JustKid Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 A little more about beer... and Belgians "Anheuser-Busch, the maker of Budweiser and Bud Light, has agreed to a takeover by a giant Belgian brewer, a union that creates a global beer leader and brings to an end one of the most iconic names in American business". Never liked Bud anyway...
belgian Posted July 15, 2008 Author Posted July 15, 2008 So I mailed the seller three days before the auction ended, he replied 10 minutes before it ended. One sentence : can meet in Karlruhe. Hard to do business with someone who can't communicate....Oh well, the highest bidder was someone from Slovenia (who probably can't read German)......

Well you Belgians just bought Anheuser-Busch beer I belive. So now you can teach the Americans how to brew a prober stout. That cow-piss Budweiser is about the worst "beer" on the planet. Go Belgium! There is reason to celebrate
specialk Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Kriek! Me needs Kriek! +1 on Budweiser being cow piss. specialk (now you know what the "k" stands for)

And the takeover was from Inbev a half Belgian - half Brazilian company, in the news there's no mention of a Brazilian takeover. Anway it's just a corperate thing. http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=KQQPPNFFTmo
