15 posts and no mention of Angus Young? Not the most technically proficient guitarist, but a killer entertainer.

I wanna see YOU play the opening of "Thunderstruck" while laying on the ground doing the Curly spin.

I would put Alice in here for getting your monies worth, but he is also a top notch rock singer and when he wants to, he can do a wicked John Lennon imitation on some of his slower stuff. Plus his band is always top shelf and just smokes in concert.

The Darkness was one of the better shows I've seen in the last 5 years. I've seen a LOT of really good shows in that time period too, but they were totally living it up - it was a full-on, '70s style, big rawk show.

Yes, they are currently residing in the "Where are they now?" file, but that was a damned good live band.

I agree. I saw the Darkness at the 9:30 in DC a few years ago and they were great! The show reminded me of a Kix show: funny frontman, killer guitar work, hooky tunes, and crazy high energy.

Justin has a new band called Hot Leg that is basically the Darkness Redux. They have a MySpace site and there are numerous videos on YouTube. Check 'em out.

That Jersey Boy, Bruce. I really don't get his songs, but boy can he put on a show. Got dragged to one in the mid-80s at the Cap Center and was blown away.

Wolfmother put on a killer show at 9:30 Club that I'd pay to see again and again; they were on their game and had the crowd rockin.

Seen Papa roach, Seether and staind last week, all three bands put on a hell of a show but that singer dude from papa roach owned it!!

This guy got down on the floor in the middle of a song never quite singing and high fived everyone from front to back! That guy was just fun to watch and you could tell he just loves to play!!

At the risk of enduring the ridicule of many on this forum; I say Rick Nielsen is one of the greatest entertainers on the planet and his playing is never compared to the greats. Sort of like that guy Pete from The Who. Both are in my essential listening pile. I really think Rick takes the cake. I go see Cheap Trick every chance I get. And Rick is the show. He plays those Hamer guitars too.

Great example.

Also a +1 for Bruce. I was bought a ticket and told I *had* to go, so I did, and damn if he didn't make the Cap Centre feel like a club.
