indianpass Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Hi everyone, I am just providing a heads-up to anyone that is interested that a new listing will be placed out on EBAY shortly for my Hamer Standard. It is on the Registry (through correspondence with Serial Steve who is slightly familiar with this one from when I purchased it over five years ago) at: http://www.hamerfanclub.com/serialnumber/view.php?sysid=2872 It is nicely flamed, bound and crowned, factory dated as 09/10/80. Overall shape is very very good with the original case, tuners, finish and so on. This is a one-piece neck. Action, frets and tone are excellent as you would imagine. There have been a couple of minor changes....the pickups were swapped to Gibson and I think a Gibson tailpiece might be on it but I can not be sure at this point. The person I bought it from included one of the original pickups and the original pots if you are interested in reinstalling those components to make it as close to original as possible. The worst issue is a ding up near the top at the headstock tip...it is clearly visible but this did not break into the wood or affect the integrity, it is slightly below the Hamer logo. It all looks good and checks out otherwise. I looked for this a long long time before finding one that had the specs and the originality that I was looking for. I am selling several of my (what I call) high-dollar guitars because of economic times.....this one hurts a lot. You can check my EBAY feedback also if you want (member name is the same as my login to Hamer Fan Club). This one hurts a lot and I have alternatives if it doesn't look like the selling-price can be fairly met. Thanks and sorry to ramble on. I have other guitars ranging from weird (Guild Bladerunner) to rather ordinary (a high-end 1982 Kalamazoo Les Paul 'Standard' - a rare Standard '82'). I'm raising capital for some necessary renovation on a 1924 home.
