edgar_allan_poe Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Well, they pulled the plug on my summer school job. Not only am I out of a job but it looks like I will be lucky to get paid for time I have already put in. I don't want to do it, but I am forced to move a couple of things in order to make it through the summer. If the fuckers would have told me there was a money pinch I would have secured another job, this situation really leaves me out in the cold. 1. Foxrox TZF Flanger - He doesn't make these anymore and they are going for insane prices. I need to move it so it goes for $400. 2. Ben Fargen Bordeaux - One of the first made. He stopped making this particular version very early on and went to a single channel. This is a dual channel, one of the best cleans I have ever heard and an overdrive channel to die for. It started life as a 2x12 and now resides in a head cabinet that was made by Ben and is a cool burgundy color. These were almost 3k new. I was asking for $1500 a few months ago, but I need to move it, so make me an offer. edgarallanpoe@verizon.net

DavidE Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Rob:I sent you an email with questions about the Fargen this afternoon. Maybe check your junk mail folder... :-)
edgar_allan_poe Posted July 23, 2009 Author Posted July 23, 2009 Dave, I am at work now and didn't see it last night. I will look again when I get home this afternoon.
mathman Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 They really don't plan to pay you? Sucks to loose the job but they should pay you for the time you put in.
edgar_allan_poe Posted July 23, 2009 Author Posted July 23, 2009 They really don't plan to pay you? Sucks to loose the job but they should pay you for the time you put in.The problem is that my summer school job relies almost entirely on funding from outside sources. Several of those sources have pulled their funding due to money issues. I will survive as it is only my summer job and I can do other things, like my side tutoring job. I will simply bump up my hours in that job to partially compensate. Still, this will mean that I will be out about 4K after all is said and done.I am more worried about the effect on these kids.We have about 20 kids and all of them are from local youth homes. These are kids who have been removed from their families for one reason or another and need our school to get the credits they need to put them in their correct grade. Several of them have already opened up to me and I am making some *great* progress with them. These are kids who do not deal with adversity very well.It also helps them assimilate into a school environment and these kids desperately need that aspect of our program. On a side note...I am amazed at the assholery (lol) of some idiots. The following is an actual e-mail I received this morning.I'm surprised a true intellectual genius like yourself doesn't have millions in the bank. I'd like to quote Nelson Muntz here and say "Ha-Ha!"I have received three of these from different sources and I simply cannot fathom the mentality of someone who thinks that the loss of a job is in any way, shape, or form...funny. My heart goes out to these guys because they obviously have no friends or any life worth living.
specialk Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Hey, you didn't have to share my email to you with everyone! Seriously, best of luck to you AND the kids, and the idiots out there sound like they could use a bit of "schoolin'" as well.
backinit Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Nothing I'm in the market for (or can afford), but best of luck.
