esquared Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 No affiliation, but why dont people put some effort into fixing up US models rather than spending money on an import?eBay Korean Hamer
sonic1974 Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Painting SRV on a Hamer? That doesn't make any sense to me. I could see painting him on a strat.
cmatthes Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 I thought that was kind of stupid. Not knocking the work of the airbrush guy, but there are PLENTY of decent Strats/Strat-type guitars out there. That guy just spent $1,000 to make a $200 guitar into a $250 guitar.
Russ Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 That guy just spent $1,000 to make a $200 guitar into a $250 guitar. Perhaps the funniest thing I've read in months...
Bennyboy-UK Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 I love it. Oddball shaped import+inappropriate and expensive makeover = extravigant turd burnishing.Defies common sense on so many levels. Oh and add in a feintly ridiculous asking price.Or perhaps I'm the mug? It could be the most ironic and sarcastic effort I've ever seen. But I'm a pro cynic so it's just poor, but it's getting a reaction out of me.24 ct Cack.Benner.Can't see anyone going for it. £1,100 -£1,200??? That gets you the choice of sooooo much good stuff. 2 or even 3 USA Hamers?Must calm down... Sorry!

crunchee Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Nice artwork, but for some reason I'm having flashbacks from the late '70's--of 'super custom' vans with airbrushed artwork, Captain's chairs, shag carpeting, mag wheels...
LefThanDed Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 These custom paint jobs always remind me of any 1960's sitcom when one of the characters takes up painting, a customer gushes about how this is "exactly what I have been looking for!", pays full price, then rips the canvas out and happlily leaves with the frame. Zany!
gtone Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Egads!! And I was worried about spending $100 on my "polishing the turd" import mods. Now I'm feeling pretty good about keeping things sane in that department...
esquared Posted March 2, 2010 Author Posted March 2, 2010 At least it wasnt a 70's sunburst that he decided to turn into a "super custom"
