RoyB Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Being a long time Lynyrd Skynyrd fan as well as Blackfoot I've seen the guitar Ricky Medlocke is holding in this photo. So today look what showed up because of damage received in the Nashville flood. It's sad to see the guitar in this shape, but still cool to have it in the shop!!
ton13 Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Just getting around to posting some photos of both Ricky's Explorer and Firebird after all their repairs from the Nashville flood. They are now back in Ricky's hands. Is that tremolo is custom made?
RoyB Posted August 17, 2010 Author Posted August 17, 2010 Is that tremolo is custom made?Nope just stock 60s maestro tremolos. It came of the firebird, but was added to the Explorer.
RoyB Posted September 17, 2010 Author Posted September 17, 2010 Well today we got Ricky's Les Paul back together and after a cracked top, loose binding, frets, and finish falling off. I did these before and after photos. After all it's been through the guitar just plays and should amazing!!

RoyB Posted September 17, 2010 Author Posted September 17, 2010 It just takes a lot of time and artistic dedication to put every grail in by hand.
specialk Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Magickal stuff, Roy! Great job to the RS gang.
Lockbody Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Holy shit. Top shelf right there.+ a gazillion
Jason01 Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 See this is the kind of stuff that makes me scratch my head when someone says their guitar is destroyed. You guys can bring anything back from the dead.
RoyB Posted September 18, 2010 Author Posted September 18, 2010 See this is the kind of stuff that makes me scratch my head when someone says their guitar is destroyed. You guys can bring anything back from the dead.Almost any guitar can be repaired, the question is if it's worth repairing from a financial standpoint. These guitars had so much history they were priceless to Ricky, so price was not an issue. That's not the case most of the time. These repairs can get higher than the cost of a very nice guitar.
