DarrenD Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 This is a highly underrated bass. A short-scale bass (31") with a thin nut width, comfortable profile, smooth fretboard, and can be used either a 4 or 8 string bass. Did I mention it has a bolt-IN aluminum neck? The fretboard is carbonite - the body is walnut I believe with maple laminates. Made in the USA during Kramer's early days at New Jersey. This one has been gigged with a few times and has some dings and scratches, but nothing serious. The sound is absolutely wonderful. The frets are in very good condition and have a lot of life in them. The bridge pickup may need a rewiring as I can't get it to work, but I never really tried to go after it. I always used the neck pup. Everything is original. It comes with a non-original hardshell case with extremely good packing. Everything will be shipped and insured via UPS ground. The Kramer aluminum basses were the real deal. You won't be disappointed by this masterpiece. You can have it all for the very reasonable price of $595 SHIPPED. Payment will be Paypal shipped to CONUS For trades the only things I would be interested in are a chap elite w/sustainiac, Hamer 12 string guitar, or some Hamer painted by Jim O'connor.
cmatthes Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Wow.I was afraid that was going to be that bass model when I opened that up.Loved those!
DavidE Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 I'm seriously thinking of things to sell...Have a light weight EBMM Sterling?
DarrenD Posted October 14, 2010 Author Posted October 14, 2010 I forgot to mention this is an '81. The pickups are old Dimarzios and it has Schaller tuners. You don't find many octave basses now days with body tuners as well.
Shark Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 A Real Classic! And sure tempting for that price ..
hamerboy_ Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I had one of those in black. Amazingly well balanced. And it sounded great. I can't remember why I got rid of it.-Bobby
DarrenD Posted October 18, 2010 Author Posted October 18, 2010 Bump with a final price reduction to $545 shipped. It will be going overseas if it isn't gone at the end of the week.
DarrenD Posted October 25, 2010 Author Posted October 25, 2010 Nice! I forgot about that ad. Guitar is still available, btw. I'll give it a little bit yet before it goes on the bay.
