Jeff R Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Sweet, and the bound fingerboard is nice and hard to find.Too much $$$ for my pocket. And many layers of bullshit in the description. But it is a stunning piece of craftsmanship, regardless.
hardheartedbill Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 nice neck on that one, sounds great too, not too bright. The ad's are getting into the ridiculous but maybe I've just got a modest nature
DavidE Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 All the b.s. about Pheonix's guitars that were pictured in the Designer Gallery, then:"This guitar is not one of the Designer Gallery guitars but it a stunning piece of craftsmanshp regardless."Too much b.s. for me. Killer guitar, but come on with the b.s. in the ad...
kurtsstuff Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Had one or two...hated it but....Damn their puuurty...
KeyOfZ Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Man, that is my dream Hamer (except for the inlays). I wish they still made that model. I think a limited run of set-neck Cali's would hit the spot. I'd want one without booms though.

Killer guitar, but come on with the b.s. in the ad... Good call. That happens to be one beautiful Hamer. Think someone will buy it 'cause the hfc is mentioned?
hamertek98 Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 I've never used the HFC on evilbay to try and sell something. I've used friends but not the name. Why wouldn't they try to sell it here first? Are they selling Joe's guitars? With the (so called map policy) I'd think not. Are they all older Hamer's?
serial Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 The Cali and double Cali are older, but everything else is the full-on custom blinged out new stuff done in the past year or so. Very nice looking and I'm sure that they cost a pretty penny, but I found "upstateguitars" to be a bit "short" in replies. YMMV. I'd probably have felt better dealing directly with Phoenix. Not sure if this guy bought them from him or is just selling them for him.
hardheartedbill Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 I have played all those custom orders, if ya have a question and can't/don't deal w/ upstates replies give me a shout
Nuclear Wessel Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 I finally got a flame maple Cali last month in a trade deal. I was tempted to write about how great the tone is, and how despite that you'd think a maple body and ebony fretboard would make the guitar too bright or edgy, but it actually has an amazing singing, evenly balanced tone, but then I thought "why sing the praises of maple Cali's just because it's a Hamer board?" Cut your losses, get rid of them now, I'll take them off your hands for $350.00. Oh, and I'd be willing to take the quilt Monaco SuperPro off the seller's hands too. Quite willing.
Tres Aardvarks Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 his asking price on that just confirms that Stonge gave me a smoking deal on mine!
Brownsound Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Damn...big chunk of maple. I bet its as bright as a brass bell!!! Not my cup of tea soundwise but its a piece of art.
Jimbilly Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 I've been watching the hfc, and I missed all the 'designer gallery' discussions, how could this be?!
