It'll be back, Mark! ;)

you know what though Chris, i'm so impressed with that Artist....if this phantom is 1/2 as good....it will be killer!!!!

This is for certain: you will not find a more comfortable guitar (and I'm a Strat guy): perfect contours and unbelievable balance.

The resonance of the one I had was incredible, even unplugged, and oh, that DiMarzio Slammer!

I never liked that body style until I actually played a few of them. As Velorush mentioned above, it is a perfectly-ergonomic design (at least for me). I've been playing my son's 6-in-line Phantom, and that has definitely won me over in a big way.

Happy new year yall,

The buyer has decided to not keep the guitar because a failure on my part to mention that the block against which the bridge pivots is leaning forward into the pickup ring. This is something which I've somehow never noticed, yet all three of the sustain block Phantoms I've had exhibit this. I've taken my blue one apart to compare:

It does not affect the functioning of the tremolo in any way and IMO it's a non-issue other than the pickup ring being deformed a little and eventually cracking, if it's not already cracked. It can't get any worse because it is being physically blocked by the bridge pickup from advancing further. I suspect that it's been like this for a long time and that a significant percentage of sustain block tremolo guitars look like this too, while being perfectly functional and solid.

Offering it back to the HFC for $850 + actual shipping from Michigan (~$25-40 in the USA, ~$100 to europe)

I don't think I can recall one of those where the Sustainblock pivot bar DIDN'T go up against the mounting ring!

Ditto, Chris. Just how they're mde, but mine never broke. Just is right up against the ring, thus slightly deforming it.

One day one of these will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine...

Every one I've had does that. Doesn't affect anything at all.
