Ancient Rocker Posted February 11, 2012 Author Posted February 11, 2012 What is going on with the market?....Two listed at once----One sold for $1450, the other not at all. Great guitars.....Not too many seem to come up for resale....Something is wrong! My look at the photos makes me think this one looks nicer than the one that did sell. Too bad both were closing within hours. Good luck with a sale. My thoughts exactly! Mine is in much nicer shape than the other one. Every other Talladega on Ebay is at least $1,000 more!

The only thing I would caution, as a reality check, is that the other things listed on eBay are new instruments for sale by dealers. From my own experience (with one of those dealers, from whom I bought MY Talladega) I am pretty sure they will sell for less if you contact them directly.....And several of those have been up for months. A used instrument, even in near mint shape, from a private party, will almost certainly sell for a lot less. Even more so if a "quick" sale is desired. All that said, I hope you can get a good price for yours! They are really nice guitars.
cmatthes Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 And now for sale again? That didn't last long!http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hamer-Talladega-Ultimate-Flmae-Telecaster-carved-top-Semi-hollow-/180820165876?pt=Guitar&hash=item2a19b8c4f4Sorry, but that ultra-religious horse hockey is a definite turn off. Cool guitar though.
murkat Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Sorry, but that ultra-religious horse hockey is a definite turn off. TY
G Man Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Sorry, but that ultra-religious horse hockey is a definite turn off. TY +2, take it to TGP.
cynic Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 If nothing else it's a great example of the difference pictures can make. That thing just went from "just another Tally" to "wow!"
serial Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Hmmmm, that's bizarre. Is this one sold or not?
django49 Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 It is strange......Both sellers apparently from the same area.......Perhaps one bought it and is trying to "flip" it?This is the one that another member was asking for estimated values (in a very confusing thread), clarified that it was for a friend who might be selling, then it was posted, then went to eBay (did not sell), then reverted to this thread, then was listed as sold, now is back on eBay listed by a seller that may or may not be related to either of the first 2 people. Something is screwy.
cmatthes Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I learned a long time agoOh never mind.I know exactly where you're going with that one - you're exactly right, and I'm not talkin' Bryant Gumbel...
