Ting Ho Dung Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 If you've heard them, know someone with one, heard bad things, heard good things, please let me know. They seem like a lot of amp for the money. How do they compare to other Bogners? Thanks in advance,--Michael
anathemata Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 I had one for a while. A great amp with tons of features. When I took out the chassis, I found orange drop capacitors, so pretty good build quality. I traded mine for a Marshall cab, but if I had the money I wouldn't hesitate to buy one again, especially for how low they're going new.
tommy p Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 A buddy of mine had one and eventually sold it. He had offered it to me, but a lot of the reviews I read online about it characterized it as "dark", which I didn't want since I use humbuckers 99% of the time and hate to sound muffled. I didn't get a chance to play my buddy's before he got rid of it. My advice is to check out some video demos of it. I've been looking for "the" amp for years now and video reviews are very helpful.
G Man Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 I haven't heard one in person, and don't really know much about them, but Musician's Friend Stupid Deal of the Day today is offering them up for $500 for the head. Seems like a great price for this amp. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/stupid/
Armitage Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 I was just going to point out the Stupid Deal of the Day too!Smokin' price if anyone is looking for one.
MCChris Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 I'm set on amps, at least in terms of what my finances will currently allow, but this is a no-brainer price if you're in the market.
Jeff R Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 I had the 2x12 combo for about a year. I thought it was a pretty cool amp. Considering I sold mine due to its size and weight, $500 would be very well spent money on the head IMHO.
django49 Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Hard to go wrong at that price. Main complaints from users seem to be quality control (it is Chinese). I have not tried it myself. At least if you buy from Guitar Denter, you should have no problem returning if it has issues.
