Bad Ass Dean Z Bass

For a number of years there were limited edition guitars and basses for the open house events. the guitars were made in runs of 50 and the basses were made in runs of 25 a couple years and 12 a couple others. I have #11/25 V bass and #11/12 Z bass. These guitars and basses were always a lil better than the average imports. I have 2 of the guitars in #28/50 also.

They were not this expensive new. The guitars were $600 with a HSC and the basses were $750 with HSC. The bass cases for the V and Z are aircraft carrier sized.

I had zorrow's DOA goldtop V for a bit and really liked the guitar, but my understanding of these is the production numbers were more a reflection of the level of pre-order commitment they could generate on the Dean forum, not any sort of limited availability imposed by the company.

I'm open to correction, but in the reading I did about them when I got zorrow's that was the impression I was left with.

I got along well with mine, but the quality never felt better than other non usa/czech Deans.

Towards the end, the last three runs, there became less demand. There are 50 Goldtop Vs but the Soltero and the Deciever that followed only sold to demand numbers and the one from 2011 was a USA made guitar and IIRC less than 5 sold. 2003 a Silverburst Caddy, was 25 guitars, 2004-2008 were 50 units, 2009 Soltero MIGHT have been 50. The 2008-2011 guitars also came with Dean USA pickups. The GT V has a limited custom run of pickups for that guitar only.

$1,500 is where I'd expect that bass to be priced.

If it came with two others.
