Hunter_Brown Posted February 27, 2005 Posted February 27, 2005 Looking to buy an early sustain block special. Good frets and beefy neck preferred, the rest is incidental. The more beat the better. Thanks.
Hunter_Brown Posted February 27, 2005 Author Posted February 27, 2005 Not bad. Is it for sale, or are you just givin' a peep show?
DEMENTED Posted February 27, 2005 Posted February 27, 2005 Not bad. Is it for sale, or are you just givin' a peep show? It's for sale but it ain't bottom feeder friendly. I am only trying to get what I have into it back to fund an amp purchase. E-mail me if you would like more info.

Guest galejt Posted February 27, 2005 Posted February 27, 2005 That's funny! Fast Reply pops up this little window here and ...POOF... It appears in the data stream . . . . . . . . . . I'm easily amused.
Guest galejt Posted February 27, 2005 Posted February 27, 2005 Okay. Here goes. Attempting photgraphic insertion.....now! '82 Sustain Block Special. Worn, torn and put away wet. Neck not beefy. Frets needed. Any belmishes you see in the above photo are not abberations. Rings like a fs<king bell. Unplugged it's just sweet. Ships with original pickups (but I'll tell you where you can get the magic). '81 Sustain Block Special. I haven't even seen this one yet. BCR will ship this to me this week setup for 9-46. I rather save shipping it twice. . . That these instruments are on the block is testament to the fact that shameless whining and drooling in public DOES have its rewards. GEEKS untie! GEEKS RULE THE WORLD! Out here. Jim
Gabe Posted February 27, 2005 Posted February 27, 2005 And how about this one. http://cgi.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...7302915432&rd=1 Special : Yes Early : Yes, 1981 Sustainblock: Yes Beat-up : Yes, more or less Fat neck : No, it's slim Gabe

I rather save shipping it twice. I've seen it James, and it's in great condition. It used to be DavidE's, and it's worth much more than $350. (It's a Sunburst, BTW).

DavidE Posted February 28, 2005 Posted February 28, 2005 Jim!!! I'm surprised you still don't have that '81 Sunburst and that you're willing to off it without trying it. Bummer. It's a nice one for sure.
Guest galejt Posted February 28, 2005 Posted February 28, 2005 I had a recent stroke of good fortune (reference the whining and drooling comment) and panicked. Of course I'll try it. Then sell it to the highest bidder. Unless I can get this Strat and P90s moved first.
Gabe Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Special    :  YesEarly     :  Yes, 1981Sustainblock:  YesBeat-up   :  Yes, more or lessFat neck   :  No, it's slimhttp://cgi.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...me=STRK:MEDW:ITSo this one went for $1000, Not bad on both sides, I presume.Gabe :-)
belgian Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Hey Gabe, Still looking for bottomfeeders ? On this side of the pond you won't find any ( Diablo's at 1000 $)
Gabe Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Hey Gabe, Still looking for bottomfeeders ? On this side of the pond you won't find any ( Diablo's at 1000 $) Hey Conrad.Ev'ry thing okay? That sure is a nice guitar you have ordered. Especially the bound f-holes. That is something I am missing on my Newport, and all the time when I see a guitar with bound f-holes I think it looks great. But of course I am always looking for bottom feeders. I want a 1979-1981 bound and crowned Sunburst (with original DiMarzio's and a sustain block). But these are hard to find. When you see one, please inform me.Gabe :-)
Samuello Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Still looking for bottomfeeders ? On this side of the pond you won't find any ( Diablo's at 1000 $) Hey, you'll never know: just a few days ago there was a USA Diablo with 299 Pounds BIN price! Yeah, it went pretty fast... at least for us Europeans that's a bottom feeder price
belgian Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 But you can't find any recent models in Europe. And when there's one they are way overpriced ( there a artist custom on sale now on Ebay in England - they ask 2300 $)
tomteriffic Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Special: Yes Early: Yes, '81 Frets: Good Beat up: HELL yes! Neck: Not as skinny as some '93's I've known, but no baseball bat.
tomteriffic Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Jim, where the finish is still there, yup, it is. Edited to add I did a whole searies of bright daylight shots, just trying to show how beat this thing really is. It looks MUCH worse in person and sounds awesome!
Gabe Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Special: Yes Early: Yes, '81 Frets: Good Beat up: HELL yes! Neck: Not as skinny as some '93's I've known, but no baseball bat. Hi Tom I'd gladly pay $3,50 for that guitar. Gabe

And when there's one they are way overpriced ( there a artist custom on sale now on Ebay in England - they ask 2300 $) That's true, unfortunately! The Diablo I mentioned was from the same seller. With 2300$ one can fly to the States and still get a superb Hamer. Cheapest new Hamer (Monaco elite mahogany) costs 2000 Euros here in Finland. That's much! And Hamer even raised the retail prices for 2005!
