That '83 is an '86 - not that it matters as they weren't made until '85 anyway.

i just talked to the owner...that is not the original neck on the Scepter. it was broken and re-necked

Was this a factory job? I R_E_A_L_L_Y want a scepter......

Looks factory from the pics - but then again, it's not in my hands. Looks like it has an '86 factory Serial number stamp, just like Jemmie mentioned.

I've touched-base with the owner, and heard some good things. I think I'll pursue it.

My Scarab's neck broke 6 weeks into owning it and I got a factory new neck and paintjob back in 1987. They put the serial number on the new neck and matched the paint perfectly.

I don't consider that a "neck repair" since it's a new neck.

Is the neck glued together or is it a new neck? If it's a factory new neck, it's not a repair even though Hamer "repaired" it.

It is a NEW neck from the Hamer factory - same symptom/cause as yours. The issue was not related to impact/damage, but a split.
