Jem Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 That '83 is an '86 - not that it matters as they weren't made until '85 anyway.
Brentrocks Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 i just talked to the owner...that is not the original neck on the Scepter. it was broken and re-necked
MCChris Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 "Looking for most reasonable bid- Good Luck!"It's Craigslist, not eBay, you fuckstick.

cmatthes Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Looks factory from the pics - but then again, it's not in my hands. Looks like it has an '86 factory Serial number stamp, just like Jemmie mentioned.

Never2Late Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I've touched-base with the owner, and heard some good things. I think I'll pursue it.
zenmindbeginner Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 My Scarab's neck broke 6 weeks into owning it and I got a factory new neck and paintjob back in 1987. They put the serial number on the new neck and matched the paint perfectly.I don't consider that a "neck repair" since it's a new neck.Is the neck glued together or is it a new neck? If it's a factory new neck, it's not a repair even though Hamer "repaired" it.

The issue was not related to impact/damage, but a split.
