tafkathundernotes Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 I've decided to part with my 5-string before my wife finds out what I bought on ebay. It's a '96 with the 2-Tek bridge and asymmetrical neck. It's very comfortable in your hands. The pickups are Duncan Basslines actives, but I don't know the model. This is a great sounding bass. The finish is white, but like many Hamers in this color, it has yellowed over time. This live shot best captures the "shade of fade". As you can see, under the lights, it's not an issue. The neck is about as perfect as you'll find and has very little fretwear. There are only two small nicks on the back and minimal button-rash on the back. I can take some closeups if anybody needs them. Thanks. $475 + shipping to lower 48. Paypal or postal money orders OK.

kizanski Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Two different shirts in his pix, fellas...as strange as it may seem...
Jimbilly Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 I can't believe how affordable those great basses have become. How many crappy basses are in that price range?! If I didn't already have one....
HAMERMAN Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 That's a serious deal - someobdy snap it up quick!
silentman Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 That bass sounded great at the last jam at ceeb's house. I'd like a 2tek 5 stringer, but can't jump on this one. That is cheep!
cmatthes Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 Brian is THE BEST to deal with. I purchased his matching 4 string 2Tek, and it was one of the best transactions ever. Straight up good guy. I'm afraid to find out what he got on eBay...
Guest galejt Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 I'm afraid to find out what he got on eBay... It must be really nice to give that one up.I'm seriously liking that...

tafkathundernotes Posted November 7, 2005 Author Posted November 7, 2005 Sold! Thanks for the bumpage guys. It worked.
Jimbilly Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 Who got the good deal? Those are so nice! Wanna see one w/ a white pickguard?, you do?, ok:
tafkathundernotes Posted November 7, 2005 Author Posted November 7, 2005 I will let the new owner identify himself if he wishes. And yes, they do look really nice with white pickguards.
mrhappy Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 Jimbilly... watcha got goin' on with the stacked tone knob?
Jimbilly Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 That's the stock EMG BTC (bass-treble control) knob. I bought that bass new, and I was told it was a 'deluxe', maybe they just called it that because it had the EMG's. List was about $2300 (per the store tag), -no kidding, and it had been 'on sale' (street priced) for $1699 for a long time before I bought it. Mine is quite a bit lighter than the few others I've played. I called Bassnw and they got me a white pickguard for just under $50 shipped, but that was a few years ago now.
