HAMER guitar Red plus amp

Seen this in my local paper and going to see it tomorrow. Lady wants £160 for both. Have no clue what to expect?

Advice on what to avoid as I never did figure out the order of Hamer builds other than the USA is at the top.

Stay far away from slammer by hammer, Hamer XT are decent for a low price. Slammer series are pretty good. Just Hamer I think is not so good but I may be wrong about those.

If it says Hamer USA on the Headstock buy it.

If it says Hamer anything else it would depend on the amp.

If it plays, the condition is ok, the amp works and it sounds nice it's a good enough deal anyway.

I think the order of imports starting with most preferred is Slammer Series (early Korean), the just Hamer (later Korea), then Hamer XT (MII, MIC), the Slammer by Hamer (crap).

I'd guess the amp is worthless. At US prices, $250 might be worth it if it's a nice Slammer Series, otherwise it doesn't sound like much of a deal.

Well turns out it was an echotone with just Hamer on the head, looked in A1 condition but not what I was hoping for.

It was bought as a starter package with amp and books etc. I was hoping to flip it but I dont see much price

info on ebay.

I was hoping for a Cali with boomers but never mind.

That's a good price for an Echotone and a practice amp. I think you can get a solid $275, $350 on a good day for those in the US.

An Echotone for £160.00 plus a free amp still sounds ok to me but selling it might not be easy if you're looking to make a quid.

Was it Korean, or Chinese? The Korean versions are great bang-for-the-buck guitars.

It was Korean.

In my mind I had stumbled upon a lady whose husband had left her for a younger women and she was

selling all his Hamer USA cali's cheap to get back at him. however this was only in my mind. Does that make

me a bad person?

Is it being sold by Mrs Mitch Mitchell? Could belong to Jimi Hendrix. Move over Rover and let Jimi take over. Legend has it that after a long motorcycle ride in the British countryside. Mitch & Jimi stopped at Mitch's grandmother's home to warm up. She had a roaring fire blazing away in the fireplace hence the title of the song Fire. But her huge dog was laying directly in front of the fireplace, inpiring the line "move over Rover and let Jimi take over".
