Jay-Jay... Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Does anyone here know where the Hamers Gary Moore used are at the moment? He had (as you probably know) a white and a black special with crown inlays and a Floyd Rose, a Standard who if I'm correct Gary's guitar tech Graham Lilly bought from him. and a few Phantom's. Does anyone on this messageboard own a Hamer owned by Gary Moore?? Or does anyone know where they went?
BTMN Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Welcome! We have seen shots of them over the years but I do not recall anyone here owning any of Gary's guitars. I want to say the Hard Rock has one or more that have been posted. I could be incorrect on that point though.
HamStd Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I think the good Dr. Large owns the virtuoso that was made for him (ordered without the scalloped fingerboard). His natural 4 digit standard I believe has changed hands a couple of times but is still residing in the UK.Peter
mc2 Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Didn't his Standard pop up for sale a few years back either by or through a major UK music store?
HamStd Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Didn't his Standard pop up for sale a few years back either by or through a major UK music store?Music Underground UK I think originally had the guitar at their shop. It then went to "Rock Star Guitars" and that is when it sold for a lot of $$
Biz Prof Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Slight topic diversion: Does anyone here own Richie Sambora's three-pickup Standard? If not, where did that one end up after Rock Star Guitars sold it?
gorch Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Aah, I remember the Sambora Standard was displayed on Ebay many years ago. The tag was about 18k. Dunno if EUR or $.
BTMN Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Don't know if that ever sold. It was on evilbay forever.
Andrew Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 The black Special with Phantom electrics was smashed in a fit of artistic rage apparently. There is a white Phantom-cum-Chaparral out there somewhere as well as a single pickup (EMG) red bolt-on Chap. and a pink single pickup Chap. Custom as used by Neil Carter in the "Ready for Lurve" video. The blue-grey Vector was also sold but that was a poorly modded VKK. There was a Blitzbass made to go with the natural Standard:
mc2 Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Don't know if that ever sold. It was on evilbay forever.I can ask those Rock Star Guitar guys about that Sambora Standard. I am supposed to call one of the two owners about Noel Redding's amps that I have, which they sold years back and have documentation on. I've been in communication with both of those guys over the last couple of weeks.
velorush Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Given how the Phantom / Cruisebass body is the most ergonomic guitar I've ever strapped on, and Given the utility of the SSH pickup configuration, Shouldn't that have been a regular production model?
