gwayne Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 I've got Boogie fever bad. Looking for a Mark III or IV combo, preferably with EV , but if you're selling please let me know what you have even if it's just the head.I don't have access to this board or my home email from work, so please reply to: [email protected] I 've done lots of dealings with HFC members who can vouch for me.Thanks, Gary
hardheartedbill Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Gary is 1000% trustworthy, no worries at all
mattb Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 I've got both! BUT I WILL NEVER SELL!!!! Good luck. I'll keep my eyes peeled fer ya. Killer amps.
hardheartedbill Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 there is a DC5 @ Tempo for $695, looks like it's in minty condition, has the EQ too. I picked up Boogie #264 the other day, a blonde head w/ reverb and EQ !
Caddie Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 I trust you are young, strong, have no back/shoulder/elbow/knee problems, yet you are not afraid of acquiring such a problem. That MkIV combo was my favorite gig amp, I'm still not happy with myself for selling it. But that freakin' thing was SOooo damn heavy and unwieldy i couldn't handle it anymore. I got to the point where i would just leave it in the back of the SUV during the week rather than lug it in & out of the house, up & down the stairs every weekend.I should have thought it out and bought an empty head cabinet & reconfig'd it, but noooo. I accepted what i thought was a pretty nice caysh offer. Stuck in my thumb, pulled out a plum, and said what a dumbass am I.Great great amp, extremely versatile, reliable & durable. However I recommend a head & cab config, rather than the combo.just my $0.02noonan
nosajwp Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 I have a minty DC-10 combo I'm thinking of selling. Interested?
kenjones Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 But that freakin' thing was SOooo damn heavy and unwieldy i couldn't handle it anymore. I lugged around my MKIIC+ in an Anvil case for two years of touring. I think the reason they seem so heavy is because they are so small - they really don't weigh any more than some larger amps, but the small size makes them seem just THAT MUCH HEAVIER.
cloakerz Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 you can buy my dc-5 for $700 if you like. Have been trying to sell for a while but no takers!
gwayne Posted December 31, 2005 Author Posted December 31, 2005 HHB and JeffR, Thanks for the kind words. I love both you guys. I'm really stuck on the Mark IV if at all possible. They are a tweakers delight but they really work well for me. I had one that I loved and sold to fund a once-in-a-lifetime purchase. I always knew that I'd get another when I had the funds. There are actually two right now on the 'bay within driving distance. That alone will save me approx. $100 on shipping. Ken, I absolutely agree that their small size makes them SEEM heavier than they actually are. For those selling DC's, what's the lowdown on them? Thanks again, Gary
nosajwp Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 DC series = clean channel of a Mark series (best clean I've heard) + lead channel with as much gain as you could want on tap, plus a lot more clarity and less harshness than a Rectifier (but can be made just as bottom heavy)
BadgerDave Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 I have an absolutely mint Stiletto Deuce head FS.Any interest in switching to EL34s?
