Boomerang~Junkie Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 This started out life as a an NOS 1998 Phantom. Yes, a brand new guitar. I bought it from Bubs in its completed state about two years ago. Its remarkably nice and Bubs said he spent a crapload of money getting this guitfiddle into its current incredible state. There was an entire thread on it - I can’t find it anymore? Bubs had this NOS Phantom stripped down, converted over to a Sustainblock bridge, a new neck pickup (can’t recall what it is right now) with a second three way switch. Murkat did his magical work on all the mods and wiring and Stike laid down the insane Pelham Blue Metallic Sparkle that slightly shifts colors and looks like it’s a foot deep. Kick ass guitar all the way around – plays like a Hamer. A really badass Hamer now. Factory HSC is equally nice. It is exactly as Bubs sent it to me. No issues. I need to get out of it what I have in it – clearing $1100.00, otherwise I'll keep it. Buyer to pay insured shipping in CONUS. Sorry, I’m not interested in trades right now. PP/G preferred on this one. I’ll post photos later tomorrow since PB still sucks ass.
bubs_42 Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 Switch to IMGUR, I did and it was easy. I'm trying to think to myself what I put in the bridge position of that guitar... The Neck is a Seymour Duncan Custom Shop LIL Pearly Gates with a push/push pot on the tone to make it series/parallel. I think the bridge pup is a Pearly Gates. STOCK Single in the brindge. You want flexible you go it, this guitar does a bunch of tones, I went after the Phantom Custom with a Sustainblock and no maple. Top end is snappy and the bottom end has thump. This is one of 2 reworked by Stike and Jay for me. $1100 is just a scratch of what I spent and I hope it stays in the family.
Boomerang~Junkie Posted September 17, 2017 Author Posted September 17, 2017 Shawn - thanks for photo tip and the detailed spec list on the Phantom - its a badass guitar. You did an awesome job pulling that project together. Compliments go to Murkat and Stike for their awesome work on it as well. I've received a few PM's from seriously interested members. I'm confident it will stay in the HFC family.
Boomerang~Junkie Posted September 17, 2017 Author Posted September 17, 2017 As close to minty fresh as it gets. Stike's Pelham blue metallic sparkle BADNESS. These tuners are chrome - not gold. PS: Kiss my ass Photobucket.
bubs_42 Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 Handmade Murkat Pickguard, gibson knobs, real mop mini tuning pegs. The bridge pup is an older PGJ if my memory serves me correct. I'm asking myself why I sold that one. LOL Sexy isn't it? Anyone need a Fuchs Damnit! LOLOLOL
DaveL Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 wow... that's looks pretty nice, going to message stike on something.
Boomerang~Junkie Posted September 18, 2017 Author Posted September 18, 2017 Hell yes. His metallic paint jobs are so badass that bowling balls and bass boats have "Stike" shrines and worship him as their patron saint.
cmatthes Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 I got to see that one in person while Stike was working his magic, and photos do not do it justice!
gorch Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Wow! There are still Hamers out there that ink desire. Love or hate Cites. It's hard to control the trigger finger in this one.
cynic Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Dear Buyer, Congrats on a fine purchase. I appreciate you stepping up in the interim, but this will eventually be mine. Best regards, The Dibs Caller P.S. Seriously
Boomerang~Junkie Posted September 20, 2017 Author Posted September 20, 2017 The first three photos (the really good ones) aren't mine - I heisted them from Shawn's original thread. Its click and pray for me - my photography skills fairly much suck.
