'Back heavy' Hamer Special

guitaround

Question

Hi all,

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I only find references to 'neck heavy' guitars.

I only play seated and I have a Hamer Special with two P90's that I find nearly impossible to play seated, it keeps trying to 'fall back' raising up the neck.

The guitar is otherwise wonderful, is this problem something normal with this model? are there any easy solutions?

Thank you!

Regards

I doubt it works as intended, but might be perfect for your situation.

I've never had a Special behave that way. Does it hang funny on a strap?

As far as I remember it was fine strapped, I will try again later today. The Fatfinger seems to be around 100gr, probably too little.

I also have an Studio with the same problem but not as noticeable. No other of my guitars have this issue.

I feared asking the question......😪

Anyway, it is not a problem with the Studio, but in the Special it really is, as much that I am thinking about selling it because of that.

I have just tested it and it is totally fine strapped. I also have a Korina Jr that balances just fine.

The shape seems the same to me, although the Special its quite heavier.

Beer holder for the headstock works but needs a lot of frequent attention!

Not a problem if you have beer in it.
