It’s an old enough serial number that is quite possible, I’m going w SC’s answer!

Actually, it does appear to be a refin - there’s a “box” around the serial that wasn’t visible when I was looking on my phone screen.  The serial looks like it was masked off.

I would also guess black. Check the control cavity, as usually they often mask that off.

We've seen a ton like that - especially the yellow on black ones.  The ones that haven't faded into oblivion, that is.
