Hey, hijacking others WTB posts aint cool!

But it's a tradition here! :) It also serves to bump your very important post back to the top of the list.

Welcome, and good luck in your search. I had one of those a couple of years ago and they're very nice basses. Feel free to hang here and ask a million questions if you want. This is a great community.

Jack;

Are you selling it?

Settle down. I told him on the phone I wasn't in the market. I wanted to know if it had a matching h-stock because the ones I have do. I might be in the market for a new case.

BTW, did you call him? Not too often you find an NOS, much less black. Good luck in your search.

Yeah, I gave him a ring and am waiting for him to email some pictures.

FWIW, I have a blue one that has a matching headstock and a natural one with a maple headstock. I used to have a black one with a maple headstock and a red one with a matching headstock.

I have two blue ones, both phase one and phase two 2Teks, and they both have the matching headstock. I have a transparent green phase one that has a maple headstock. I also have a phase two fretless in a blonde finish with a natural headstock.

Thanks. It was the first green one built. I asked Frank Untermyer to build me a green one, and he laughed. Then he built it.

I did (and still do) own 2Tek, so I was able to talk him into it.

I'm a HUGE fan of the 2TEK Cruises. Mine is a fantastic sounding and playing bass.

Forgive my ignorance, but what are the differences between the Phase 1 and 2?

Thanks!

To me, the 2-tek is the greatest bass invention out there. Heck, I even bought a peavey axxel. cause it had one. I'd like to put one in an older Hamer but I can't find them used.

I saw in Bassplayer mag. you were up and running again. Great news. If you got the time, I'd love to read the history of your company.

And thanks for mailing me the instruction manual years ago!

The phase two was a redesign that made the bridge smaller, and cut the weight by about 1/3. I will try to post a couple pic of the differences.

We are currently in negotiation with a few major manufacturers to bring out new lines of OEM basses and guitars with the bridges on them.

What year was phase 2? My '95 seems to weigh a little more than my '96, but it could be the alder. Can you tell by looking at the back plate, or is it inside?

edit to add: Wonder if we oughta take this topic to the main page? Probably be more interest.

Phase one, notice the double row of screws attaching the tonal fingers to the back plate.

Phase two with a smaller backplate and a single row of screws.

I've got a 2TEK that should be coming back my way shortly-can't wait to bang on that thing-I've loved the ones I've played.
