prototype-fan Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 I’m looking to replace the volume pot on a 1980s Prototype. Any suggestions on a new replacement that would be similar to the pots used by Hamer during that era? Thanks!
flattop Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 I think Hamers volume pots had a custom taper, unlike anything else Could still use a CTS audio taper 500k pot though.
Dutchman Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 Mojotone’s custom taper pot’s are the closest to Hamer pot spec’s I’ve found. Give them a look see!!

They definitely had a unique taper, spec'd by them... Wish you could still get them, but not a real big deal.
velorush Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 I have had good results with the RS Guitarworks Superpots (@RoyB used to post here frequently). They are a CTS pot spec'd by RS and have a nice taper and are generally closer to the specified value than the typical off-the-shelf CTS.
BubbaVO Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 I had good results with the RS guitarworks super pots too.

I ordered a Mojotone, so we’ll see how that works out.
