No connection to the sale--my wife just flagged the auction, which is local to me, as being done at a nonspecialist house so bidding may be thin.  There's an abundance of lefty instruments.  Note the fairly hefty 28% buyer's premium if you bid.

Wow.  Both the Daytona and the Special are still at bargain prices with 30 minutes to go.  (Or maybe it's 30 minutes until the live auction begins--reading fine print is not something I can bring myself to do outside of my job.)

The Special sold for $840, plus 28% buyer's premium.

After buyer's premium and sales tax, the Daytona would have been $810 before shipping for me.  Really solid deal, but considering the lack of case, not a homerun.

@Hamer95USA - They still pop up from time to time for under $1k with case. 

That one had a gig bag and sold for $600.  That times 1.35 (sales tax + buyer's premium) shakes out to $810 plus shipping for me.  Pretty good deal, but not one I'd kick myself over missing.

I got both the Special and Daytona. Makes a nice addition to my Hamer collection. Not a smoking' deal but I feel good about them. Both in better condition than the pictures and play great. The special is amazing!
