Calling HFC Custom Finish Owners - Chaparral refinish - Inspire me!!

Hi folks,

Hope all are well.

So, my search for a Chaparral has resulted in finding a nice '86 custom which was refinished many years ago. Other than that it's all original and very nice.. :)

I'd like to get it spruced up and am planning to get it refin'd in something representative of what Hamer might have offered as custom around that time. Something rare would be cool..

Can't do O'Connor style stuff but most other things are doable.. I just need some inspiration.. if you've got any photo's I'd love to see them!

Regards,

Si

I always thought Chaps looked sharp in Sea Foam/Surf Green:

I'll have to find a better pic of my Chartreuse Sparkle Strat, but that's a favorite.
Can't go wrong with "Speed Purple" either...good enough for that diminutive chap who played the Super Bowl Halftime show here in the States 15 years ago or so...

"Got more colors than Sean Penn"

Choosing one is always the toughest part for me on builds or refins.  Love the "cool colors", though - greens, blues, violets

When I saw Robert Palmer in about 1988, Eddie Martinez was the guitarist, and played a Chaparral that seemed to change color with every lighting change. It must have been pearl metallic?  I think that was the coolest guitar finish I've seen, I was in the very front row, and I couldn't tell what color that guitar was.

bennyboy-uk: I have the twin to that ssii, but with a lot more forearm wear, and a Rio Grande BBQ bucker, it's my favorite guitar.
