I think the seller is taking the guitar on consignment. If he sells it he gets a cut, if not it costs him nothing. He said this is a person who regularly gives him things to sell. I'll be heading over there shortly.
rickrock999 Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 So I went and saw it. The guy is firm at $2350 just like I knew he would be. He did however offer to let me pay him to have the original equipment put back on, (after I bought the guitar and the equipment) what a nice guy. Guitar is in nice shape. But I guess I will have to pass. I asked if he still has it in a month from now would he consider coming down and I got a maybe.

rickrock999 Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 It played fine with the current equipment. I like the Granite more than I thought I would too. I thought for a moment, "Maybe if I just leave it like it is." I didn't realize you can still use a tremolo bar with the Wilkinson. But I guess that would be Sacrilege. 😕
Victor (Fret Friend) Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 I'd have poked him in th eye with a 5h1tty stick
Hamer95USA Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 I would pass on that guitar than consider buying it. It has been modified with the Floyd Rose bridge and the locking nut removed. Having to buy a Schaller/Floyd Rose bridge & locking nut plus the work of removing the bridge studs and installing the Floyd Rose bridge studs & locking nut will be a lot of work and money. I would be worried about the headstock area for the locking nut.

The area has only had a piece of wood shaped and glued to it: it's easy to remove. I mentioned earlier that it's not worth the extra expense on top of the sellers ludicrous price. I'd stay way clear of this until the price halved...

Unfortunately my Galaxy s10 that is still pretty new is already taking crappy pics. You can see the piece of wood above the nut. There also looks like a little damage at the bottom of the headstock itself. 10 hours ago, Victor (Fret Friend) said: I'd stay way clear of this until the price halved... Seriously doubt that is ever going to happen.
crunchee Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Like the old adage goes: 'Just because it's there doesn't mean you have to buy it'.
