PSA Scam suspicion Californian in Germany

I see mistakes like this all the time... doesn't mean it's a scam but just accidentally uploaded a photo that was in the same gallery album

I always ask the seller for a specific pic not in the listing. If they can't send it... "I'm out".

That is a good strategy:  I once ran into a seller that said that he could not send my requested photo because he had already packed the guitar up for shipping, and I bought it anyway, but then I had to return it because the seller had been dishonest about the nut width of the instrument.

True.  I would still be suspicious, however, because this is the picture with the serial number, arguably one of the most important photos.

Bought this guitar in February, well, actually,  asked my friend in Germany to buy it for me. Agreed to 1600, we paid via PP  but purchased additional protection ( we don’t have that feature here i think). The fucker shipped 500 grams package to some bogus address, but was in touch for 3-4 days via whatsup, what a guy, even sent “his” driver’s license, prolly generated by web. Then disappeared. It took more than 2 months to get the money back from pp. Apparently pp algorithm in states and in europe  are quite different. And if here it usually took me 2 weeks, sometimes even 1 ( not sure how it is now), over the pond its over 2 months. Not really good situation where you wait for G’d knows how long without any idea how it’s gonna end. But it’s europe…you know how it is over there. Nobody is rushing to do anything…

Same color, same PUs, same price…dont remember serial, but it could be anything at this point, don’t have access to my pc right now, but in a couple days can confirm.

The pic with the serial could very easily have chrome or nickel tuners and the gold hue is just the lighting, the Hamer logo in the other pic looks overly yellow, too.

But the serial number suggests '88 rather than '91, so there's that.  I would think that @JustKid's brush with this guitar is likely the biggest red flag here.

Cmon guys. It's obvious scam website which parses listing from popular websites and auto generates fake listings with same images and prices.

The last photo is my Cali. My listing was “relisted” also….be careful.

Scammers took photos from Avito and make listings on ebay. I know a HFC member that got into that trap…

PS

an amazing red maple Cali Custom that is/was listed in Germany is also a fake. If you interested in this guitar pm me. I know the owner

I got into a trap similar to JustKid's here in the states but it was for a limited edition Gibson SG Diablo. Because I used PP family and friends, I wasn't eligible for any protection and lost $1400 on that deal. 🤬

Damn, sorry to hear.

with Hamers its a bit easier- not that much guitars left on the market. We have a close community. Imagine what problems can have a Fender or Gibson fan?
