WorstBandName Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Hamer Korina Artist p90 (2002) It's a nice guitar with modifications - Mojotone Quiet Coil p90s, TUSQ Nut w/ black shim, Black Tuner Tips, screw-on strap buttons, and frets replaced and level, I believe. I think that's everything. These are the photos from the original seller as I can't take pictures this nice, but it's in the same condition and can send cell phone quality photos, as needed. It has a few marks on the body and headstock here and there but nothing crazy (from my perspective). I grabbed this one on here within the past couple of years. I ended up picking up a 2002 Korina Artist HB so I've decided to let this one go. We have another kid on the way so I need to continue to get really particular about what I keep as space is running thin. $old shipped ppff - located in New Jersey. I'm also WorstBandName on The Gear Page where I have buying/selling feedback. Thanks for your time!

It has modern shoulders. Less D shaped than my later Standard but fuller than my custom from a couple years prior. It's a very comfortable 59-ish inspired neck to me, which I would consider a compliment and good for a number of folks. I can get exact measurements with calipers if needed.
jujisque Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 @WorstBandNameWhat wire was used for the new frets?

MPR Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 It now joins my '96 Artist Custom I've had since 2001 and the Mirage II I picked up last year from another HFCer. (The Artist Custom was effectively the only electric I owned for all those years until I got the Mirage, having abandoned my cheap starter guitar after I upgraded to the Hamer.) I'm a happy man; swapping between the two Artists is easy, with the humbuckers and the P-90s providing different tonal options, and the Mirage (with its longer scale) stays tuned down a half step. Giving the new guitar some love the week after I got it:

Any thoughts on the Mojotone p90s in there and how they are working for you on stage?

Any thoughts on the Mojotone p90s in there and how they are working for you on stage? This is my first P-90 guitar, so I can't compare these pickups to others from experience, but I can say that they sound good, and they complement my other Artist as I'd hoped: the P-90s cut more, the humbuckers have more girth, and they're close enough to both sound great without having to tweak the rest of my rig. I'm debating whether or not to change the wiring on the korina from its current vol-tone-tone to the usual Hamer vol-vol-tone, but I'm going to live with it for awhile first and see how I like it as-is.
Menehune Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 Thanks for sharing that video, MPR. I find the vol-vol-tone most useful.
MPR Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 I finally got around to rewiring it last night. Now it's vol-vol-tone, with only the bridge pickup connected to the tone control (because I don't see myself going for dark neck pickup sounds on this guitar, and this way I can flip between a clean, bright neck and a mid-focused bridge rhythm sound without having to turn a knob). Just plugged it into my rig tonight at rehearsal, and while I kept the tone knob wide open for what we were practicing tonight, I was very happy being able to set the toggle in the middle, neck volume around 7, and ride the bridge volume up and down for different shades of tone and breakup.
