but one thing they definitely don't do is float.

My 94 T-51 weighs in on 4168 Gramms.

More of a boat anchor. Might even work for bigger vessels, too.

(Dan Baird playing a Fender Tele...)

Thanks, but no case and 1 feedback. I'll just watch that one from over here.

At least they're popping up once in a while.

OK, so I did this for a little over $200:

I figure I can slap the Daytona neck on it, route it for a middle pickup, and have my Nashville/Thinline Tele jones cured ....at least temporarily.

Update on the Firefly: It's really good. It has a nice fat 12" radius neck that feels great (no need for the Daytona neck swap) and the frets appear to be medium jumbos (my personal favorites). It was in dire need of a set-up (truss rod adjustment, intonation, neck shim) and is currently acclimating itself to those tweaks, but the thing is a solid platform, for sure.

Plus the guy gave me a partial refund on the shipping (just out of the blue - I didn't ask. How often do you see that on Ebay??) so it was to-the-door for $190.

So, my T-51 search is over - without actually getting a T-51 - because of this Firefly, an IYV Thinline Tele w/ humbuckers, and a regular Squier Tele with an AllParts neck swap. I'm still kinda stunned at how good these cheapo guitars are. It's crazy.

Bwahahahahaha! Holy hell you really know how to hold a grudge.

My kids would have a hemorrhage but given the context, I stand by my statement.

No grudge.  I just happened upon it when reminiscing the Victim Explorer build.

That said, I have no problem holding it over you, even if the statement happens to be 100% accurate.

The Daytona neck is currently attached to this:

Honestly, that guitar would benefit from a 3x3 headstock neck 🤔
