https://www.musiciansfriend.com/stupid I had an orange one (which wouldn't have sounded as good), and it was a great 'cheap' guitar. The pickups have this awesome greasiness to them and the individual pickup switches offer a great variety. Seriously killer bang-for-the-buck. 👍👍👍

Several Hundred Dollars Later... The new layout. The Plethora X1 was good but the HX One seems more versatile and with better control capabilities, though that generates its own issues in that it is much more complicated to operate which led me to include the Ampero Hotone (ho-tone? hot-one?) dual momentary switch to easily move through presets. The Flux control offers some fantastic possibilities allowing for a second state of any preset. I estimate I have another thousand or so hours of experimentation before I am really proficient with it, but for now I am able to get some good sounds from stock presets. The CIOKS ISO (pronounced "Chucks" according to their website) is an absolutely fantastic piece of equipment allowing each of the five outputs independently to be 9V, 12V, 15V or 18V and up to 600mA output each. This is my first Line 6 device, and the sounds are quite impressive. The only issue I've run into is the firmware and library editor downloads require an account and when I enter my email address the site says I have an account, but then it will not email me a password reset. I've never had any Line 6 devices, but who knows what other companies they've swallowed up, and I suppose they're part of Yamaha now. Presently waiting on the left coast to wake up so I can call (!) support. I'd open a ticket online, but that requires an account.

Big necks? Yes. I have been converted. The newer Gibson 50's neck+ 12/52 xl's+ drop D tuning.

Frets are in excellent shape, no dents or divots. This is the 1957 Reissue - big neck, big frets.

I've finally turned a corner and have embraced the big carves. So much so that I'm prepping my CS R0 for sale. I just got used to, ya know, PLAYING my Tokai LP Std with a '59 carve. I have always been 60's Gibson-carve kinda guy, admittedly not really, "getting it", when It comes to '59+ necks. Even my Crews Strat has a bigger carve than any I've owned, and I can get around on it just fine. Now, I feel that I can play most necks, barring something that is stupidly big. Hell, if Paul Kossoff could wrap his tiny Hobbit claws around a 'Burst, then why the hell can't I? Anyway, back to the Tokai... 2019 Tokai LC220S BB. Neck is about .92-94". All stock. Pickups sound great, with good (not hot) output. Gotoh hardware. The quality of workmanship/materials is first class all the way. Lacquer finish, ebony board/pearl inlays and binding/fretwork are perfect. Maple top, mahogany body/neck. Weight is a hair over 10lb. Yes, a bit chonky, but it's an LPC. The recent, two-tone Gibson LPC seem to hover around that weight and are $4999 new. Got it from a very reputable MIJ shop in Canada. He was great to work with, accepted my offer without hesitation and shipped to my door in 7 days from Ontario. The only snag is my asshole neighbors let the box sit outside our front door ALL DAY on the ONLY 96deg day we've had this year. Dicks. Anyway, enough of my yakkin'. Lets boogie:

Gibson spec fret wire. It's in between 6105 to 6100 jescar. Its a healthy size fret.

Oh, and congrats on the new guitar! And doing the right thing. Both are pretty great.

I dunno - the other one was awfully pretty: I'm with Cary - at first blush it's 'hell yeah' and then the stupid old conscience takes over and you go and do the right thing. Karma is real, but damn....
