Not so much a fan of her music, but I loved her as a human being. Just incredible, and she WILL be missed by millions.

I ended up using a toothbrush and a shop vac to take off the first layer, then some Simple Green followed by a damp cloth. I gave it a light coat of Armor All to finish it off. Worked great and houses this: It's a '64/'65 Hagstrom II. It's had a refin but cleaned up pretty nice. WTF is that foot?? And of course I didn't get a picture of the case. Dumbass. It was my buddy's first guitar, so I made it playable for him again.

The first album I ever bought was 'Tres Hombres' and Frank was one of my favorite drummers. This one sucks hard.

Site Access & Email Update β August 24, 2026
hamerhead replied to hikarateboy's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
WOOHOO!! Thanks, Ted! I thought the site was down again, so I didn't think too much of it - at first. Today I finally broke and emailed Kiz (Thanks again, Mike!) and then Ted (after Mike said the site was up). I've been binge-eating ice cream for a week and a half. Damn I need help. Thanks again Ted and Kiz. My life can get back to normal now (after I lose 20 pounds....). -
Another legend gone. She was one of a kind..

We've identified and resolved an issue where some members were being blocked from accessing the site entirely. Our automated security system (firewall) was being overly aggressive and accidentally blocking legitimate users who triggered too many false positives during normal browsing. If you were unable to access the site and it suddenly works again β this is why. You've been unblocked. The security thresholds have been adjusted to prevent this from happening to regular members going forward. If you're still unable to reach the site, please have someone pass along your IP address to an admin so we can check. You can find your IP at https://whatismyip.com. Regarding email notifications: We've also resolved an issue with outgoing emails (password resets, notifications, etc.) not reaching Gmail and other providers. If you previously requested a password reset and never received it, please try again β it should work now. If you're still not receiving forum emails, please check your spam/junk folder first, and let us know if the issue persists. β Ted / HFC Admin

HamerFanClub Site Status Update

Closing this one and opening a new one that will be pinned at the top. -
Somebody snag that Proto 12. I had one in Ice Pearl, one of the few I regret selling. Tone and playability are beyond belief, a true Ric killer.

Anyone remember Wolfmother?
The_Cali_Kid replied to Saul Goodman's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Fellow countrymen that I saw play a few times at small clubs for local bands as well as at local music festivals. Never really got the hype, but the kids seemed to love them. There were/are a gazillion local bands around here that blow them out of the water imho. /end old-man-yelling-at-clouds rant- 1 reply

Previously there were a couple things on the site map of the main page such as links to wiring diagrams and serial number information. Those are no longer available. Is it possible to readd them? ππβ€οΈπ

Iβd tap that (and then run away with the Jr.)

I mean, if you want to play Mississippi queen all day, they are PERFECT. Just not sure why Hamer decided that the HOT P90 for the neck and CUSTOM P90 for the bridge was the way to go. They were taller than normal P90s, so they had to route out more material. I guess they didn't want the "standard" low out put SP90-1 pickups.

Low Wind Imperials in a Superpro?
velorush replied to Whoismarykelly's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I installed Regular Winds in a Gibson semi-hollow and the change was just as you describe - improved clarity and detail. The closest thing I've experienced were EMGs, but the Lollars are considerably less perfect in a good way. I have each on a push-pull that facilitates series / parallel wiring they sound great in either configuration. -
Gotta love how she never took herself too seriously.

Low Wind Imperials in a Superpro?
Whoismarykelly replied to Whoismarykelly's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Circling back to this to close the loop. I stopped agonizing about the price tag and the hassle of swapping pickups in this guitar and scooped a set of standard wind Lollar Imperials and installed them and they sound incredible in this guitar. Dramatically improved clarity and detail from having a pickup that isn't so bassy in both positions. Now the depth control on my amp is usable again with this guitar. Cleans are also much improved. If you've got a SuperPro the Lollars are a perfect match.
